Ahito! [ Look, if it's true, it's true. ] Uh, sure? Here, c'mon in.
[ Bruno will step aside and open the door wide to let Ahito into the room.
It's filled out nicely as far as rooms go, though Ahito wouldn't have known how sparse it had been only a few weeks ago. Books and art supplies, an open enclosure and maze for his rat, clocks for decor (although they aren't working, thank goodness; the ticking would be maddening), plants to match the overall green theme he has going on.
It's... cozy, if a little scatterbrained. ]
There was something I needed to give you, anyway, so it's a good thing you dropped by.
[ Taking in those little details will reveal his desk with those art supplies scattered about? There are little drawings on loose-leaf pages and a sketchbook, to boot. That's where he's walking over to... but! It isn't a drawing that he's planning to give Ahito.
Instead, he opens a drawer to retrieve something else. ]
Um, yeah, I. It's... let's just say it's something for when you go north again.
[ Possibly! After all, Bruno is a prophet. However, in this case, Ahito may find the gift he's getting something a little different. Whatever he gets from the desk drawer is small enough to hide in the palm of his hand. ]
I... know I can't come along with you, whenever you're sent away, but.
[ He turns to step back over to Ahito and reaches out to press a simple matchbook into his hand. Outwardly, they look very plain and uninteresting, but to a wizard's eye, they're brimming with Bruno's magic, with Southern magic. ]
There's only five in this. I've put all the healing I can into each match. One healing spell per match. When you need it, and I'm. I'm sure you will. Light one and hold it against what needs healing to cast it, okay?
Well, yeah. It wasn't something I could make on the fly, y'know? Those are some pretty powerful spells packed into those tiny things. I... I didn't want to send you out there with anything less.
I... [ Bruno laces his fingers together, fidgeting with apprehension even though he's relieved he could give Ahito such a gift. ] I really wish that weren't true but, um, it seems like it's going to be pretty rough.
[ What does he mean by that, though? ]
I couldn't get a clear picture of what you'll face. It was all blizzards and cold and screams and... dangerous... lights? I. I'm not sure what that part was. Sorry.
Blizzards and screams... I guess we'd probably be at a village, then? [Hard to imagine much of the Northern crew screaming.] As for dangerous lights... maybe the moon's influence...?
[Hmm... not too much to go off of, but still better to know than not.]
Oh, uh... I was kind of wondering if you could imbue some purification magic or something into a charm in case someone gets too close to some moon rocks, but I think the healing magic should probably help plenty already?
[ He holds his hand out for the bracelet and once he has it, he'll cross back over to the desk to take a seat and set it down there. ]
Okay, let me see... if I can remember how I healed the corruption before. Hm. [ He lays his hands down on the desk with his thumbs and index fingers bordering the bracelet. ] Su futuro espera.
[ Incantation murmured, he lets his eyes slide shut and focuses on back when he and the other Southern wizards had reversed the corruption in the farmers. For him, it had been telling the body to return to how it had been before encountering the meteor: healthy, whole, untouched by those negative forces sickening them, body and soul.
As with his magic before, the bracelet, too, begins to glow with that same faint green light. It'll be the same when Ahito finds himself using those matches; green fire rather than normal fire, with a quiet, kind sense to it. ]
[He watches Bruno work with a quiet sense of awe. Magic is far from his favorite thing in the world, but this? This gentle magic, made to protect and purify, instead of whatever coldly abstract reasoning researchers came up with - it's all too easy to pick his favorite of the two.
He waits until the spell is complete before he speaks up.]
...Thanks. I seriously owe you.
[For all his low self-esteem, Bruno's gone above and beyond anything he expected when he first knocked on that door.]
[ Once Bruno finishes filling the bracelet with his little (well, not so little, actually) corruption reversal spell, he takes a moment to breathe in deep and summon up the illusion of being totally fine. He's not tapped out on magic now or anything, honest! But just in case, he won't be getting back up from his chair. He can feel that tell-tale weakness in his knees...
But it's easy enough to turn where he's seated and hold the bracelet back out to Ahito. ]
Just come back in one piece and we'll call it even, alright?
[He'll untie a drawstring bag from his belt, holding it out - it's full of wizard sugar, blue and silver and gold, all with a crisp and refreshing taste.]
[ Bruno takes the bag from him and gives it a quick peek inside. ]
Sugar? Wow, those are some nice colors. Kinda a shame to use it in anything when it's that pretty... hm...
[ He'll pick out one piece of wizard sugar and turn in his seat again, tapping the bit of sugar against the wooden maze he's left on one side of his desk. Tap, tap. ]
Bruno, you realize eating it will restore some of your magical energy, right?
[Please use it... but he'll put on the bracelet while he's at it, too. He's got a few now actually, one that was originally a protection charm for Mika woven of blue and yellow cord, but also a silver bracelet with links that look like leafy vines, a single little teacup-shaped charm hanging off of it.]
[ Look, that won't stop him from giving the piece of sugar to the fuzzy little rat who comes poking its nose out of the maze, but he does turn to give Ahito a funny look. ]
Wait, what? Really?! Since when?! I thought... I mean, I knew it could help people feel better, but I didn't know it did that, too?

Hey!
[Look it's the most unproblematic north!! (alleged)]
Mind if I ask you for a favor?

In fact, he's so busy taking in the little details he has to pause to catch up to Bruno's words.]
-Wait, you do?
[Huh????]

Instead, he opens a drawer to retrieve something else. ]
Um, yeah, I. It's... let's just say it's something for when you go north again.

Did he get preempted in his request...???]
What is it?

Once Bruno finishes his explanation, Ahito smiles softly, fingers closing over the little matchbook.]
You already had this ready to go, huh? You were thinking way ahead of me.

Thanks. I'll make sure to use them if... well, when we need them.
[Though for now, he's tucking them away safely into a pocket.]

[ Too soon, he's imagines. ]
Er, a-anyway, what was the favor you wanted?
no subject
[Don't overdo it, uncle...]
no subject
[ It's fiiiine, don't worry about it. ]
Do you have anything in mind to imbue?
no subject
[Fishing out a bracelet he had the sense to get before asking.]
Would something like this work?

[ He holds his hand out for the bracelet and once he has it, he'll cross back over to the desk to take a seat and set it down there. ]
