Except his little laugh devolves into a light cough. He leans into Aguero's chest, and he realizes the air is getting thin enough that he might not be able to breathe at all if they go any higher. ]
A cloud, I think. [ He says this quietly, with what his lungs will allow.
He clings tighter, and presses his lips to his neck. ]
tatara coughs and aguero snaps to reality--he hadn't noticed that the air was getting thin either because he naturally has stronger lungs and endurance due to his heritage. he's knowledgeable enough (and cognizant enough) not to drop them instantly but slowly back down to the rooftops of the city, holding his boyfriend close in an attempt to shield him from most of the moisture and cold. he magics away his outer vest at some point because it's getting soggy and just weighing him down leaving only his button-up shirt, white and purple plaid, on. ]
Sorry, I should have noticed sooner. Are you okay? [ he ultimately lands them in someone's rooftop garden, the bright flowers a suitable cushioning. his hair is damp, ends slightly wavy, but his shirt is absolutely soaked through and puckered against his chest. ]
[ Tatara's weak coughing eventually morphs back into quiet laughing. Even when he manages a deep breath to re-fill his lungs with air and even when he manages to look past his damp eyelashes to see they've landed somewhere they probably shouldn't be (not that he minds, really, where they should and shouldn't be), his laughing doesn't stop. He's giddy. And even though they've come down now, he still feels like he's floating. ]
I'm fine. [ He's soaked too, and he only notices when he reaches to cup Aguero's cheek in his hand and the fabric clings to his skin. He's fine. More than fine. And now that he has full lungs to laugh, he's more than fine.
There's a short moment where he gazes into Aguero's eyes and decides he likes his blue better than the sky's, when an important realization comes to him. His eyes snap open, and he gasps. ]
But are the chocolates fine? [ Where did they put them, are they soaked too, did they forget them— ]
[ the laughing helps to assuage his concern but really what gets him to actually relax is the question about the chocolates. he smiles then, cheeky. ]
I put them in my lighthouse.
[ it pops into existence, doing a little spin to flick beads of water onto the flowers in the neighboring planter. the chocolates and all the other assorted accessories he's brought along for this date are completely dry inside. ]
[ Oh, right. Tatara laughs, again, but this time relieved. Without asking or waiting he reaches for the box, his hand still damp.
As he grins up at Aguero, he plucks a chocolate from the container and holds one out for him to eat again. It feels like a distant dream, him remarking about how he likes feeding him, but he's right. ]
I dunno. I just remembered them.
[ Hehe. An overreaction, maybe?
When he sees Aguero eat it, he leans in to plant a light kiss on his wet cheek. ]
[ his cheeks flush a bit as he eats the chocolate, now with the knowledge that tatara genuinely likes feeding him. he's never had anything like this and it feels so warm against the coolness of his skin. ]
Mmn, you deserve it. [ everything. ]
When we dance in the ocean remind me to enchant our clothes. [ with an impero they're mostly dry, though he doesn't bother to do much with his hair aside from wringing out most of the moisture. he's more than capable of completely fixing it with magic at this point, but some things he prefers to do the old fashioned way. ]
[ How he would love to dance in the ocean, among the coral and the azure of the water, to breathe in the magic of the world under the sea and share it with no one but his beloved Aguero.
Tatara is all smiles and his insides are all butterflies; it's hard not to feel this way, after everything. Even when they're dry, he still feels like he'll be carrying a part of the cloud with him in his lungs, in his hair.
Their room. Deep down, he knows that this night will be special, in a different sort of way, from the rest. ]
