We didn't have the energy for it. Ithaqua was the only one who could fly himself back to the portal - Robin had to carry the moon rock in dragon form, so the rest of us just hitched a ride with him, yourself included.
Even now I think most of us are recovering from our wounds and replenishing our magic.
