[Wow at least call it her unique sense of taste gosh!! Anyways, she'll nod along when Kurapika mentions the furniture store plan, but one part of it makes her pause:]
...Wait, bribe? Don't you mean 'buy'?
[Bribe makes it sound like they're doing something sketchy...]
[Kurapika really living up to his mafia reputation huh...]
Hmm, I suppose... I'd rather not get one of the employees in trouble if we can avoid it, though. How about we try to go to a smaller store and see if we can negotiate with the owner first?
['Negotiate' possibly takes on a more ominous tone here because she has a pair of guns on her, but no, she just means bartering.]
[Thankfully she has a high threshold for these things!! It's not like she hasn't done some stuff that would count as being in a legal gray area either, but bribing furniture store workers seems like overkill in this scenario.
Anyways, since Kurapika's agreed to negotiate, she's not going to harp on the matter. Commissioning a board though... now there's a thought.]
Well, I wouldn't be opposed to that! I'm usually busy with work, so I've never really gotten into do-it-yourself projects... This would be a first for me.
[wow if they gotta intimidate anyone she'll let him take care of it then
But hey, he has a valid point. At the least, this whole 'being in another world' thing has been a good chance to do stuff she normally wouldn't, so she's on board.]
Experience, huh... Sure! I'll be counting on you for any pointers, then.
[At least she has enthusiasm in spades, if nothing else.]

[Over to the nightstand she goes to retrieve them, holstering the guns as she walks out of the room.]
Okay, where to? I'll admit, I've been more focused on restaurants and cafés, so I'm not too familiar with where we can find wood.
[Although the stationery she can handle, at least!]

There are some furniture stores around town that I'm sure would be willing to part with a few planks if we ask nicely enough. [ ... ] Or bribe them.

[ Sometimes you leave the mafia but it doesn't leave you. ]
Though we could still bribe them if it's not for sale.

...Fine. We'll try negotiation first. We can even check around multiple places in case they're selling planks outright.
[ ... ]
How good are you with handiwork? It might be a good idea to commission a bulletin board if neither of us are capable of putting the pieces together.

[Not that she's opposed to trying, either way.]

Hmm. Then why don't we actually make it? I used to do a bit of handiwork when I was living on my own, and you could get some experience for yourself.
[ Being on your own at 12 means you have to do things yourself, unfortunately. ]

What sorts of things have you made before?
no subject
Mostly repairing things like busted windows or broken toilets. Nothing particularly elaborate.
[ After all, you make do in those sorts of situations. ]
I've done a lot of camping related building as well, but that's different.
