Just do what comes naturally to you. You don't need to buy me anything either. Taking me somewhere nice, sharing something you like with me... Those things count too.
I did say I wanted to take you to the observatory in the West...
[ But does that even count? He isn't so sure. It's something he thought was nice and he wanted to share it with Akira. Ah... he doesn't usually doubt himself, but Akira really does turn his emotions on their head. ]
[ No, he sees the romantic underlying a lot of the little things Akira does, and the thought makes his fingers squeeze tighter around the handle of his gift bag. ]
Hey. That's uncalled for. Are you saying I can't be both?
[So what if he's a flirt? Let him live! Clearly Kurapika doesn't mind this side of him, otherwise he wouldn't be going on dates with him. Akira pinches his side.]
I like a lot of the things here. [ ... ] I've actually come in here a few times for a few pieces of decor for my room.
[ Mostly bookends and such, but he's looked around at everything else too. And looking around is exactly what he's doing, picking up little trinkets and holding them in his hand before setting them down.
But... his eyes do linger on one thing—sun and moon collar pins, clearly meant to match between two people as some sort of set. ]
[Kurapika didn't strike him as the knickknack gathering type, but that just means he won't be particularly difficult to buy gifts for, right? Well, if you overlook his discerning eye, anyway.
Anyway, Akira's eyes follow his gaze to those collar pins. An interesting set, one that would look good on a collar but would stand out a bit too much at home. On Kurapika, they'd look great.]
[ So he'll put the sun on the collar of his jacket, fixing it carefully. Once satisfied, he tugs on Akira's jacket so he can do the same with the moon, fastening it diligently to the collar of his coat. ]
[ A noncommittal answer, but it really is true. Even as a child, he dreamed about meeting the person he would marry, and introducing them to the Kurta Clan...
[He really lucked out, didn't he? Maybe there's something more to this little crush after all. It's brief, Akira leaning in to steal a quick kiss, and he comes away softly chuckling.]
There's a bright sun burning somewhere deep inside of you. I'll gladly be the moon to your sun.

[ He takes out the sun from his collar and sets them both back down on the table. They're nice, but the logistics of wearing them out in public is iffy here, and... well, he got what he wanted out of them anyway—a way to further express how he feels.
So, he tugs Akira's hand pulling him out of the shop. ]
[Oh, don't worry. Akira will come back later on his own time, buy them, and wear them with Kurapika whenever the hell they please. When has he never let societal norms stop him?]
Really? You're not cheap. I'm gonna have to get multiple jobs just to afford you.
[He'll let Kurapika lead the way. The sun's slipping along the horizon, so it's about time to make for the observatory anyway.]
[What is with this guy, ordering him around? Maybe Kurapika isn't the issue here. The real issue is Akira obediently following his orders and summoning his broom beside him, settling on it and motioning for Kurapika to join him.]
[ Unlike that very first time, he has no qualms about wrapping his arms around Akira's middle and pressing up against his back, chin settling on his shoulder. ]
You obeyed anyway. Do you like being bossed around?
[That's more like it. Akira can feel the difference when Kurapika no longer tenses against him, and though he can't see Akira's smile, he can surely hear it. Anyway, off they go! Westbound!]
I didn't say that.
[But he didn't not say that, so...]
Who knows? Maybe I'm only letting you get away with it because you're cute.
[ Akira is comfortable, and now that there’s an acknowledgment between them, it’s not so terrifying to hold him like this. It stirs up anticipation instead, a kind of giddy nervousness that scares him just a little.
But, hm. Akira didn’t say that, sure, but he didn’t deny it either. ]
I don’t think someone that always carries a gun on them qualifies as “cute”.
[ Thankfully broom travel is quick, because the sun is nearly past the horizon completely by now. Kurapika points north. ]
It should be that way. You’ll know it when you see it.
[ He's been called cute by plenty of people in his life, but realistically? Kurapika thinks his entire personality counteracts whatever impression his looks give off.
It's not long before the observatory shows itself, a lone building sitting atop a cliff and nestled against the sky, no artificial light around to disrupt the beauty of the stars.
[The sun's begun to set such that the stars, barely visible in the orange sky, vaguely twinkle. Akira dismisses his broom and takes Kurapika's hand like it's second nature while they walk the rest of the way to the observatory.]
You really shouldn't call yourself weird, Kurapika. I got pretty lucky bagging a baddie like you.
[ Akira's hand is warm and solid in his and the breeze that filters over the cliffside is chilly enough that he inadvertently tugs Akira's hand to bring him closer.
There are a few nice spots they could lay in the grass and look up at the sky, but the roof itself is flat enough in a few spots that they could easily lay up there too. ]
Bagging a baddie...?
[ Kurapika frowns, not sure how he feels about that. What the hell does that even mean? ]
[Oh, no need to tug! He's sidling up nice and close and Eskimo kissing Kurapika's nose before his lips come in to seal the deal. He opens the door to the observatory and steps inside.]
Mhmm. You're a real bad bitch.
[Kurapika probably won't understand that that's a compliment, but Akira's never been one to shy away from pissing the guy off. Explanation forthcoming, don't worry.]

no subject
Of course. What kind of romantic would I be if I didn't?
[It's starting to sound like Kurapika is one too... but he'll keep that thought to himself.]
no subject
[ No, he sees the romantic underlying a lot of the little things Akira does, and the thought makes his fingers squeeze tighter around the handle of his gift bag. ]

[Tug him all over the place, why don't you? Akira runs his fingers over the pin's raised design, the slightest hint of red coloring his cheeks.]
...Maybe you're a bit of a romantic too.

Anyway. ]
The moon made me think of you.

Hm... I don't think I mind that.
[ In fact, he likes the thought. A lot. ]
Back home, the moon isn't the bad thing that it is here. It's something peaceful, rather than threatening.
[ And curse-giving. He eyes the little moon pin in his hand. This is probably in an antique shop because a lot of people think it's cursed, huh...? ]
A guiding light in the night, almost.

[Akira tips his chin up and hums. It's not possible to perfectly recreate the festival so far from home, but...]
...When this is all over, I'd like to take you some time.

[ Not really, but Kurapika always ensures that whoever meets with him books the most expensive restaurant or bar in town, just to inconvenience them.
He leads Akira to the edge of town. ]
Get out your broom and take us to the West. I can guide you to the observatory from there.

You're so bossy. What gives you the right?

What's that got to do with anything? If you ask me, the gun makes you even cuter.
[Do not even try to comprehend the inner machinations of his mind, Kurapika. On Kurapika's mark, Akira veers north.]
no subject
[ He's been called cute by plenty of people in his life, but realistically? Kurapika thinks his entire personality counteracts whatever impression his looks give off.
