[ Ginger who only had one friend before this and doesn’t really know what to do when you have friends,
But his very first friend liked his dad’s baking so he thought - maybe Akira would, too. Even if his dad didn’t bake these; even if Ginger didn’t bake these - it’s like… almost the same, ok. Close… enough… ]
Uh - I have no idea what to say to that. But - are you okay anyway? I saw how you were with Solomon.
[ He tentatively enters the room, but keeps his eyes on Akira to watch his expression. ]
[...Man. You didn't have to bring him a week's worth of bread just to get the hot goss on his latest Situation with Solomon, Ginger... but Akira knows that's not quite why he's come to pay a visit. Akira's expression? Tired. Done. But he motions for Ginger to set the bread down on his desk and take a seat on the couch some steps past it, following him to sit on the other side once he's closed the door.]
I'm fine. Solomon didn't approve of something I did, go figure, but we worked it out like men.
[Which is to say they fought, but coming to blows was what they needed.]
Does he act like your overbearing mother too? I'm not mad at him, for the record, but he pisses me off sometimes.
[ Ginger is very familiar with what men do when they are working things out. He’s watched it happen from Heaven, seen it written into the 3rd mankind. ]
Did it help? [ Asked lightly as he sets the bags on the table and takes a seat, legs apart, hands clasped loosely between them. ] Can’t say I've never wanted to punch him.
I think he'd turn the other cheek if you threw a punch at him. He knows he deserves it.
[But thwacking Solomon never did much to help Akira feel better. In the end, that fight was another dressed up excuse to teach Akira a lesson that will benefit him in the long run.
Kicking a leg up on the coffee table, Akira's arms cross loosely over his chest.]
Solomon's a walking contradiction. He cares about people a lot, but he can't handle being cared for in return. He's had thousands of years to nurse that bad habit.
Ah… Yeah, it’s hard for long-lived beings to change.
[ When was the last time someone Ginger has known had changed drastically? He can’t… really think of any examples. Everyone has been the same for so, so long. ]
There isn’t really a reason for us to - hurry. [ He hums thoughtfully. ] But it’s different with you and the others. Did you talk to him about that?

His way of caring is… a little unfair.
