[Bruno catches Yodarha at an... interesting time. Currently he's sitting cross-legged on his bed, focus laying at his side, with a small block of wood floating in the air in front of him. He delicately carves at the wood with a small knife held in his left hand, his right held tightly in a sling while he works.]
[ Maybe Yodarha can show off his catches whenever he makes them! But until then, he'll shuffle over to the bed and hover there nervously, fidgeting with his shirt as he does. ]
But you can't move your arm much...? Oh, geez, did I heal it wrong? Should I try again?
Nah, I think you did as much as you could. Sometimes wounds can't be fully healed, even with the strongest healin' magic. I've been there once or twice. [He rubs his bound arm with his free hand.] But this isn't nearly as bad as some of the stuff I've dealt with before. I think a week or two of physical therapy and it'll be good as new!
[ Bruno is trying hard not to blame himself for this. Really hard. It's a problem. ]
I. I wasn't sure how to handle the. The bullets but. Kiryu knew a lot. He talked me through it. Um, I don't know much about physical... therapy? But if there's anything else I can do to help with that, I'll try.
[Yodarha can see that pang of guilt dance across Bruno's face. The best the old man can do is instill some confidence in the guy.]
You and Kiryu did a great job, so don't beat yourself up over it! Truth be told, I don't think it coulda been a better combo to make sure I ended up safe.
[He rolls his neck and flexes the fingers on his busted hand as much as he can - only about an inch, but it's something at least!]
It's mostly trainin' to your limits, then stretchin' ever so slightly beyond it. Then you repeat that! [He emits a bit of a chuckle.] It's a bit more than that, but I think ya get the picture!
Hm? Me? Uh, well, actually. [ He reaches down to the bed to retrieve the wooden bobber, giving it an idle look over. ] I've dabbled in a lot of different ones. I do some carving and woodworking here and there, painting, writing, y'know, stuff.
Oh, that'd be writing! I write scripts for telenovelas! Which are, uh, well. They. They technically only exist on television, which we don't have back home, so it's more like writing... dramas, I guess?
[ He'll set the bobber back down, easily within reach of Yodarha again in case he wants to grab it without magic. ]
Television? Can't say I've ever heard of that! But I've watched a drama or two on stage before. Though I'm not much of a writer, I'd love to see what you've made sometime - as long as you're okay with that, of course.
Oh, well, I haven't had a whole lot of time to write anything, to be honest. Plus, only one of my rats is here, so I wouldn't have a cast to work with.
[ Yes, rats. Look, you don't get the pick of actors when you live in the walls. ]
[Only one rat? Bruno has more than one rat?? If only all of them were here, that'd be something cute to behold!]
You might not have a large cast of rats, but you do have access to a large cast of wizards!... Which could conjure a large cast of rats, but that's besides the point! I'm sure some of us would be willin' to help act your stuff out.
[Yodarha shrugs.]
But if you don't have any material on hand, that's fine.
Heh, I mean, sure, I could write a play for actual people. I... I just don't know how to direct them, I guess? Plus, all the costumes I've made, all the sets, props, they've always been rat-sized.
[ And he's done aaaall of that on his own. You get bored when you're living alone in the walls for a decade. ]
Ah. That makes sense! But regardless of how you handle it, I'd love to see what ya come up with, if you end up gettin' around to writin' while you're here.
[ Yodarha will wake up on Monday to a very peculiar scene. They will see who they saw when they stepped into the mysterious circle a week ago...but the visage of who it was before scatters to the wind, and reforms as someone new. The thread of fate severs, and who you were one fated to be with matters no longer, as a new person takes their place with pink petals.
Who Yodarha sees is someone extremely tall, looking upwards with their chin cupped in their hand, as if they're pondering something up above. But when the petals shift, the figure is smiling kindly, gently at Yodarha. Their presence feels quite welcoming.
The vision fades as fast as it came, however, and before they know it, Yodarha is grounded back in reality once more. ]
There's those, yeah! But I like doin' a lot of stuff. Cookin', foragin', existin' in nature in general I guess... and I love to teach! Mostly swordplay, but I'm willin' to offer my wisdom whenever it's relevant.
A real outdoors guy, huh? That must be fun. Might be fun to learn to fish and forage... especially since I'm planning to do a little camping, y'know, looking for that whole mana area thing.
I just sorta... stumbled upon it while trekkin' out to Tycho Lake. Restin' next to - or on top of - large bodies of water seems to do the trick! My main advice is to think about what sorta places and activities bring you the most joy, and explorin' around!

Er. Sorry, is this a bad time?

Oops! Oh, hi Bruno! Nah, I was just carvin' a new bobber. What's up?

[ He takes a step in, though not much further. Kind of weird to without an actual invitation. ]
I, uh. I wanted to check up on you and make sure everything feels alright?

[Yodarha sets the knife down next to his focus and beckons Bruno closer with his now free hand.]
For the most part I'm good! A bit tired and can't really move this arm much, but it's better than bein' in horrible pain, that's for sure!

[ Look, Bruno thinks very highly of the guy. He's very cool. But he watches Yodarha give an example of stretching his arm and with his explanation, ]
Huh, yeah that... Okay, I think I get that. Is it something you learned from being a swordsman? Since that takes a lot of training?

Mhmm! 'Specially when your fightin' stuff that pushes you to your limits.
[Now what seems like a hard veer into a different topic! But Yodarha's open eye is staring down at his
block ofwood.]Say Bruno, got any hobbies that require workin' with your hands?

[ Bruno, now caught on the idea, decides to plop right down to sit on the edge of Yodarha's bed. ]
They could even be pre-trained conjured rats! I won't have to make Rodrigo play every role!

Hyuk-hyuk! I didn't expect you to zero in on that, but it ain't a bad idea now that I think about it more!

[Yodarha gently knocks against his currently bad arm.]
Once this thing is better, I'd be willin' to show you the ropes when it comes to fishin' and gatherin' if you'd like!

[ Bruno doesn't need to look into the future to know that's definitely happening. ]
Ah, but you already found your mana area? How'd you do that? What did it end up being?

Hmm. That... would be... huh, nowhere. Really. I guess? Wow, that's kind of depressing.

Then I guess you'll just have to find it in due time! I'd be willin' to explore around with ya, if you'd like!
