[Yodarha can see that pang of guilt dance across Bruno's face. The best the old man can do is instill some confidence in the guy.]
You and Kiryu did a great job, so don't beat yourself up over it! Truth be told, I don't think it coulda been a better combo to make sure I ended up safe.
[He rolls his neck and flexes the fingers on his busted hand as much as he can - only about an inch, but it's something at least!]
It's mostly trainin' to your limits, then stretchin' ever so slightly beyond it. Then you repeat that! [He emits a bit of a chuckle.] It's a bit more than that, but I think ya get the picture!
Hm? Me? Uh, well, actually. [ He reaches down to the bed to retrieve the wooden bobber, giving it an idle look over. ] I've dabbled in a lot of different ones. I do some carving and woodworking here and there, painting, writing, y'know, stuff.
Oh, that'd be writing! I write scripts for telenovelas! Which are, uh, well. They. They technically only exist on television, which we don't have back home, so it's more like writing... dramas, I guess?
[ He'll set the bobber back down, easily within reach of Yodarha again in case he wants to grab it without magic. ]
Television? Can't say I've ever heard of that! But I've watched a drama or two on stage before. Though I'm not much of a writer, I'd love to see what you've made sometime - as long as you're okay with that, of course.
Oh, well, I haven't had a whole lot of time to write anything, to be honest. Plus, only one of my rats is here, so I wouldn't have a cast to work with.
[ Yes, rats. Look, you don't get the pick of actors when you live in the walls. ]
[Only one rat? Bruno has more than one rat?? If only all of them were here, that'd be something cute to behold!]
You might not have a large cast of rats, but you do have access to a large cast of wizards!... Which could conjure a large cast of rats, but that's besides the point! I'm sure some of us would be willin' to help act your stuff out.
[Yodarha shrugs.]
But if you don't have any material on hand, that's fine.
Heh, I mean, sure, I could write a play for actual people. I... I just don't know how to direct them, I guess? Plus, all the costumes I've made, all the sets, props, they've always been rat-sized.
[ And he's done aaaall of that on his own. You get bored when you're living alone in the walls for a decade. ]
Ah. That makes sense! But regardless of how you handle it, I'd love to see what ya come up with, if you end up gettin' around to writin' while you're here.
There's those, yeah! But I like doin' a lot of stuff. Cookin', foragin', existin' in nature in general I guess... and I love to teach! Mostly swordplay, but I'm willin' to offer my wisdom whenever it's relevant.
A real outdoors guy, huh? That must be fun. Might be fun to learn to fish and forage... especially since I'm planning to do a little camping, y'know, looking for that whole mana area thing.
I just sorta... stumbled upon it while trekkin' out to Tycho Lake. Restin' next to - or on top of - large bodies of water seems to do the trick! My main advice is to think about what sorta places and activities bring you the most joy, and explorin' around!

[ Look, Bruno thinks very highly of the guy. He's very cool. But he watches Yodarha give an example of stretching his arm and with his explanation, ]
Huh, yeah that... Okay, I think I get that. Is it something you learned from being a swordsman? Since that takes a lot of training?

Mhmm! 'Specially when your fightin' stuff that pushes you to your limits.
[Now what seems like a hard veer into a different topic! But Yodarha's open eye is staring down at his
block ofwood.]Say Bruno, got any hobbies that require workin' with your hands?

[Yodarha watches Bruno looking over his unfinished work with keen interest.]
Is there anything you like focusin' on, or do you just follow wherever your whims take you?

[ Bruno, now caught on the idea, decides to plop right down to sit on the edge of Yodarha's bed. ]
They could even be pre-trained conjured rats! I won't have to make Rodrigo play every role!

Hyuk-hyuk! I didn't expect you to zero in on that, but it ain't a bad idea now that I think about it more!

Uh, what about you? You like... carving your own bobbers and fishing, I guess?

[Yodarha gently knocks against his currently bad arm.]
Once this thing is better, I'd be willin' to show you the ropes when it comes to fishin' and gatherin' if you'd like!

[ Bruno doesn't need to look into the future to know that's definitely happening. ]
Ah, but you already found your mana area? How'd you do that? What did it end up being?

Hmm. That... would be... huh, nowhere. Really. I guess? Wow, that's kind of depressing.

Then I guess you'll just have to find it in due time! I'd be willin' to explore around with ya, if you'd like!
