Hehe, you're welcome. [ He returns the smile. ] And thanks for trustin' me enough to tell me 'bout this. [ Because he got the impression that Kurapika's the serious sort. The kind that tries to handle things by themselves when they can. ]
Of course. I don't want anyone here to go through this if I can help it. If giving a warning can prevent something like this from happening again, I'll gladly do it.
[ Even if it means revealing his own carelessness. ]
Same thing, but our rock was sorta half-buried in the ground. I figured since I was the fittest [ and not fresh off cutting down the vines like Yoda was at the time ] I oughta be the one to dig it out. Since it was, uh, radiatin' rot and all, I got worried it'd just turn the shovel we borrowed to nothin', so I cast a protection spell before I started diggin'.
I don't...think the rock did anythin' to me, but even with the spell, I could still feel something rattlin' my very being when the shovel touched it. [ Horrifying to think what could have happened if he didn't! ]
[ He had a feeling that would be the case, so he's glad no one else in his group touched it with a weapon. ]
I almost wish I had enchanted my knife and struck it, but who's to say that I would've gotten off so easily? [ You know, in case length of the object matters and all. ] I can't undo my mistakes, though, so I'll at least be grateful for what I know now.
Honestly, I feel like tryin' to break it would just mean bad stuff everywhere. [ So he's very glad no one thought to try it either. ]
And...if nothin' else, you managed to walk away from it alive. [ Day feels like it could have gone so much worse, as worse for wear the Central wizards currently are. ]
[ And he would much rather take the brunt of whatever curse has hit him over it going to his fellow Centrals. At least Kurapika knows what he can and cannot handle. ]
But you're right. I'm alive, and that's what matters most. I'll adjust to this curse, even if it's difficult.

Truth is, I think I almost had the same thing happen to me and I just happened to get lucky.

[ He's curious, honestly. ]
All I could feel was dread when I approached the rock, so I wanted to cleanse it as quickly as possible to make that feeling go away.

[ At this point, he makes a move to get up. ]
Aight, there are a couple of others I need to check on, and I'll start on that charm. See you later?

See you later. [ ... ] Take care.
