[ The more he tries out this magic thing, the more he realizes that he can't fight. He can't fight! And that seems pretty important if you want to be good at magic and all that. He knows Urianger offered to teach him how to use magic, and Ginger also extended his help to Yamato, but there's someone on his floor who's just. Right there. Someone who seems like he'd be good at it.
So. Knock knock, Kurapika. No, it's not the roomba this time. ]
[ Unsurprisingly, Kurapika is prompt in opening the door. He isn't in his full suit this time, the jacket instead draped over the chair at his desk and his tie laying on his bed. There's also a book in his hand, closed around his index finger so he can go right back to reading. ]
[Akira tries, really tries to get to sleep after the omurice incident of 20XX, but shit's not working out so well, fam. That's why, at ass o'clock in the morning, Akira comes knocking on Kurapika's door. Let him IN.]
[ Kurapika is quick to get up and walk over to the door to open it, swinging it open with a bit of a huff. It better not be that fucking roomba knocking against his door again—
[ It has been a night and a half. He's just. He's so done. He's got Mika's blood on his clothes and he is so tired that on his trek back to his room, he accidentally goes to the wrong place.
He tries to open his door. Again, again, and again but to no avail.
It's not actually his door. Sorry, Kurapika. He's made a mistake. ]
[It's early evening when a familiar knocking sounds on Kurapika's door. Musashi is there, yes, but riding atop of it is the real culprit. Let him in, nya~]
[He notices, naturally, when Kurapika returns. The window may not be open, but there's a light that hadn't been there for the duration of his absence, not that Ahito's been checking particularly religiously.
Still, he's back, and that's always worth checking out. Which is why, the evening of his return, Kurapika will hear a soft knock on the window from a certain broom-bound teen.]
[ It doesn't take long before Kurapika shows up at the window, looking a little more tired than usual. There's a heavy exhaustion about him, carried in his shoulders and the slow way he unlocks the window and pushes it open. ]
[ Day has not missed that the Central wizards all seem, to put it bluntly, worse for wear after coming back, so he goes to check on one of the ones he has spoken to. Knock knock. ]
Tap tap. Who is that at the window, and at this height?
Ithaqua, of course. How did he get here? He doesn't have his broom-- nor his stilts, if Kurapika were to look properly. He's simply perched on the exterior half of the window sill. Once he notes that he has Kurapika's attention, he stops tapping with his claws and gives a wave.]
[ that picture is so cute aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
He's a little surprised that someone is perched on the window sill rather than a broom, but at least he isn't too terribly surprised to have someone at his window (thanks, Ahito).
So, Kurapika doesn't waste much time in opening it up. ]
[It's a dark and starry evening when Kurapika and Akira return from their latest outing. As they come to settle in Kurapika's room, yammering and chatting about nothing of consequence, Akira's checking out his freshly furnished room.
A globe of the world, journals and books and sets of fancy pens... Akira moves from shelf to desktop all while shaking an eight ball that only gives one answer: NO.]
You really meant it when you said you've been doing some decorating. Looks nice.
[...After a while, he sets the eight ball down in favor of picking up a bottle of wine. He looks at the wine, looks at Kurapika, and looks at the wine again. The mischievous look on his face says more than his lips ever could, yet they move to ask the obvious question anyway:]
Hey, pretty boy. Why don't we unwind a little and watch the stars?
[ hello kurapika! khun's come over so they can embark on their shopping trip. khun's dressed in casual clothes today, black leggings with an oversized t-shirt with colorful abstract shapes, hair up in a high ponytail.
oddly enough, he actually insists on coming into kurapika's room first rather than just leaving from the hallway. ]
Excited for our rendezvous? [ that's better than date right. ]
[ Since he was given advance warning, Kurapika is dressed casually for once. He'll step aside so Khun can come in, his room as clean and orderly as it always is. There's a mild look of surprise, somewhat expectant, because Khun isn't insisting on leaving immediately. ]
Excited is a strong word, but I'm looking forward to it.
[For once, Ithaqua has knocked on a door... but disappears immediately, leaving behind a hint of his magical signature and a small paper bag with half a dozen buns of freshly baked sourdough, each one slightly smaller than a fist, perfectly bite-sized. There's also fruit jam inside, nice and sweet, and with not a lot of that overly processed sugar Ithaqua dislikes either. How did he get it in there? Magic, of course. What flavors are there? Strawberry, blueberry, peach, lemon marmalade, and orange marmalade.
Enjoy! Don't burn the manor down while the Northies are gone.]
[ Oh... this is a thoughtful little gift. Kurapika was right—there's some kindness buried inside of Ithaqua, he just shows it through little methods like this.
With a little smile on his face, Kurapika gathers up the paper bag. Looks like his breakfast over the next few days is sorted.
And, although Ithaqua is gone, he'll find an envelope taped to his door later. ]
[ It takes a couple of moments, but Kurapika opens his door. He's in something more akin to joggers and a t-shirt than he is his usual button up and slacks combo, but that just means he'll be ready to train immediately. ]
Did you need something?
[ He assumes it has to do with the note he left on the board, but... you never know. ]
[ Kurapika figured Yamato would be a good choice for gathering up some of the water from the lost city of Mesa. Through whispers about the area, Kurapika has heard that the spirits are rather picky about the behavior displayed before them, so Kurapika is careful even when landing his broom on the sand. ]
They should be around here. I've heard the best method is to reach out to the spirits. If they deem us worthy enough, we should be able to gather up water here.
[ And speaking of... he pulls an empty bottle from his jacket pocket. ]
