[ Though Kurapika still wonders if Tatara is cut out to lead at all, regardless of whatever effort he puts into it. However… he’s not going to voice that thought in front of Khun. ]

Kiryu is at least well aware of the importance of connections. I think he could make use of that perspective. [ And Akira? He frowns, ever so slightly. Surely they aren’t that obvious… ] Akira values social connections as well. He’s good at turning situations around, enough so that he might be able to win over some of those in Central.

[ honestly? khun doesn't think he is and if it was possible, he'd swap their positions in a heartbeat. but they're dealing with what they have and while it's not ideal, it's not like tatara is inept. ]

It's your call. See if you can make a trip to reinforce the barrier if you haven't already. I've done what I can, but even though it's a specialty of mine back home, it's not here.

Mm, I will. It's the least I can do, and every bit of reinforcement could help stave off something we don't want to deal with.

[ They all have enough going on as it is. ]

[ After all, Kurapika knows that Khun is the sort to keep information like this close to his chest. It really is a testament to their friendship. ]

he pushes himself off the wall with a stretch, slipping into his usual cadence. ]

[ He shoots Khun a frown as he stands, straightening out his clothes. ]

What are you talking about?

[ Be more specific, Khun. While he won't lie about what he has going on, he's also mildly embarrassed over it. ]

We're neighbors.

[ but sure, he'll say it. ]

You're dating Akira, aren't you? He's your type.

[ Using his past words against him...! How dare you! ]

[ Look, he has no shame in admitting it, but the way Khun has gone about it is irritating. Then again, he wouldn't be Khun without bringing it up this way anyway. ]

What do you mean by "we're neighbors"?

[ They're not obvious like Tatara and Khun are, are they? ]

[ did you want him to ask via messenger pigeon or something. ]

It means what I said. [ maybeee! or maybe he's just good at reading vibes. (it's probably both.) ]

You're better off up here though. I need to make sure Tatara uses his bed~ [ he's not up here most nights anymore, something kurapika would easily notice. ]

But that Khun doesn't elaborate makes him relax just a little bit, his shoulders not quite as tense as he heads toward the door, motioning Khun out so he can follow. ]

I'm not interested in hearing about his bed and whether or not it's used.

[ It does explain Khun's general absence up here, however. ]

That said, I hope the move down there has been seamless.

[ oh kurapika. khun grins, but opts to show mercy this time. he'll save it for shopping and heads out the door. ]

Is there a reason it wouldn't be?

[ Good. Embarrass him in the middle of a store.

Kurapika shuts the door to his room behind him, locking it secure before following Khun to the elevator. ]

It's an adjustment, isn't it?

[ he has to think about that for a second actually, but in the end he gives a mild shrug. ]

Not really. I've had to make sure that I've had what I needed for my hair and some clothes, but that's about it.

[ the majority of his clothes are still in his room because truly he owns too many. but he does need to slink back to his room to change for the day, so he has to have some casual wear at tatara's room. ]

[ Once they're in the elevator, he hits the button to take them to the City of Glory. ]

Ah, well, that's good to hear.

[ Genuinely. ]

I'm a little surprised you're the one moving into his space, but...

[ He shrugs. Khun seems like the kind of person who does anything for the one he likes. ]

What's that supposed to mean?

[ he totally is though. ]

Let me guess—you let him get away with anything he wants.

[ Might as well say exactly what he's thinking. ]

What, are you jealous? We tend to want the same thing.

[ the elevator dings and he stalks out with a huff.

thinking of their rooms though, it just happened that way for them naturally. khun's room would afford them more privacy and sometimes they do wind up there but... they both really don't think too hard a lot of the time when it comes to each other.

still doesn't change that kurapika is 95% right. ]

[ But thanks for essentially confirming his suspicions, Khun! Kurapika follows him into the crowded streets of the city. ]

You and I have similar types. I’m aware of how that goes.

[ The wild and free spirit gets their way. ]

No one can make me do anything I don't want to do.

[ and yes, that includes tatara. will he do things that he wouldn't do otherwise? absolutely, but if there was ever a true disagreement? well they're still figuring that one out.

Let me guess, Akira had to strongarm you until you realized he liked you?

[ He only gives that first statement a noncommittal hum, only because he thinks Khun would do just about anything for Tatara. ]

...Not exactly. After his possession, he pushed me away. He said that if someone else had been possessed, I still would have waited by their side for them to wake up or offered them assistance because I'm "that kind of person". [ ... ] I think you and I both know how wrong he was on that front.

[ After all, Khun really Gets him. ]

I realized how I felt then, so I asked him on a date a few days later. I didn't realize he liked me.

[ Even though... Akira had kissed him and essentially confessed before then. Sometimes you're just dumb. ]

...no kidding. [ khun almost laughs at that, wow. ]

Considering how unequivocally flirty that guy is, I can't blame you much. Unless he kissed you or something.

[ if only he knew about the Musashi incident... ]

Sorry, give him a second. Or two. Or three. ]

...We had kissed a few times by that point.

What else was I supposed to think? He said he got caught up in the moment the first time, and then said we were going to be "good friends" before we kissed again.

[lighthaus]

So you ask him explicitly, like you would with anything else Kurapika. Or you just act on it yourself and see where it gets you.

[ he knows you can be blunt!

a sigh. ]

There's a lot of similarities between us, but we couldn't be more different here. I never had that problem with Tatara—the only thing you could call a problem was something I didn't even know about then.

I didn't know about my own feelings for a while, but I did act on them once I did.

[ He's at least straightforward enough to do that, though getting there at all was... difficult. ]

So, what was the problem?

[ Is he nosing into Tatara and Khun's relationship now? Yep! ]
