[ Good. Embarrass him in the middle of a store.

Kurapika shuts the door to his room behind him, locking it secure before following Khun to the elevator. ]

It's an adjustment, isn't it?

[ he has to think about that for a second actually, but in the end he gives a mild shrug. ]

Not really. I've had to make sure that I've had what I needed for my hair and some clothes, but that's about it.

[ the majority of his clothes are still in his room because truly he owns too many. but he does need to slink back to his room to change for the day, so he has to have some casual wear at tatara's room. ]

[ Once they're in the elevator, he hits the button to take them to the City of Glory. ]

Ah, well, that's good to hear.

[ Genuinely. ]

I'm a little surprised you're the one moving into his space, but...

[ He shrugs. Khun seems like the kind of person who does anything for the one he likes. ]

What's that supposed to mean?

[ he totally is though. ]

Let me guess—you let him get away with anything he wants.

[ Might as well say exactly what he's thinking. ]

What, are you jealous? We tend to want the same thing.

[ the elevator dings and he stalks out with a huff.

thinking of their rooms though, it just happened that way for them naturally. khun's room would afford them more privacy and sometimes they do wind up there but... they both really don't think too hard a lot of the time when it comes to each other.

still doesn't change that kurapika is 95% right. ]

[ But thanks for essentially confirming his suspicions, Khun! Kurapika follows him into the crowded streets of the city. ]

[ and yes, that includes tatara. will he do things that he wouldn't do otherwise? absolutely, but if there was ever a true disagreement? well they're still figuring that one out.

Let me guess, Akira had to strongarm you until you realized he liked you?

[ He only gives that first statement a noncommittal hum, only because he thinks Khun would do just about anything for Tatara. ]

...Not exactly. After his possession, he pushed me away. He said that if someone else had been possessed, I still would have waited by their side for them to wake up or offered them assistance because I'm "that kind of person". [ ... ] I think you and I both know how wrong he was on that front.

[ After all, Khun really Gets him. ]

I realized how I felt then, so I asked him on a date a few days later. I didn't realize he liked me.

[ Even though... Akira had kissed him and essentially confessed before then. Sometimes you're just dumb. ]

...no kidding. [ khun almost laughs at that, wow. ]

Considering how unequivocally flirty that guy is, I can't blame you much. Unless he kissed you or something.

[ if only he knew about the Musashi incident... ]

[ AHEM.

What else was I supposed to think? He said he got caught up in the moment the first time, and then said we were going to be "good friends" before we kissed again.

So you ask him explicitly, like you would with anything else Kurapika. Or you just act on it yourself and see where it gets you.

There's a lot of similarities between us, but we couldn't be more different here. I never had that problem with Tatara—the only thing you could call a problem was something I didn't even know about then.

I didn't know about my own feelings for a while, but I did act on them once I did.

[ He's at least straightforward enough to do that, though getting there at all was... difficult. ]

So, what was the problem?

[ Is he nosing into Tatara and Khun's relationship now? Yep! ]

[ can't relate because unfortunately he's relentless even when he doesn't want to be. though it really did help that tatara wasn't blind, which he wasn't expecting, so really he shouldn't be dinging kurapika too badly here.

khun smiles though. ]

Problem's too big of a word for it. [ but he can't think of a better one, or can't be bothered to, he hasn't actually thought about it much. shrug. ]

Jing Yuan apparently asked Tatara out at some point, but he turned him down.

[ ...maybe khun's firm opinion on the old lion makes more sense now? he's actually not the jealous type at all, nor is he the type to feel threatened, but it sure is a Thing to learn that he's contrasting with their chess smacktalk because that's just how he is. ]

[ Hm. He'll definitely get back to that "problem", because he thinks he has an idea of what it might be but...

What? He did? I didn't know that he was Jing Yuan's type as well...

[ it's a bit weird to think about? though it really doesn't bug him. ]

I get why obviously. [ khun's tatara bias is immense, but also he's used to this happening with who he likes. ]

But Tatara already liked me then. Like I said, there wasn't anything to misunderstand with us. I asked him on a date the first time we really spoke.

[ ...there sure was a whole lot of "not knowing" but that's different from misunderstanding. also he didn't realize until way later that he actually meant it as a real date and not just him being himself like he did with kurapika but.

[ Wow, he really does have a bias, and it makes the corners of Kurapika's lips quirk up. ]

Did you? Was it a real date, or the faux one you asked me out for?

[ Look. Khun knew he was going to comment on that, right? ]

you know what, this time have one of khun's own. though it's obviously playful and not actually genuine. ]

Remind me again when we made out in the forest?

[ Immediately, Kurapika's smile disappears. He reaches out and...

Shoves Khun in the shoulder. ]

What did I say? I don't want to hear about anything related to beds when it comes to you and Tatara, and I'm now expanding that to making out in the forest. [ A pause. ] Or wherever else you've done those things.

[ pfff, he's actually laughing here. kurapika why are you this way (things he should be asking himself.) ]

Hey, you asked.

[ Ugh!!! He did, didn't he? Even though he knows about Khun's tendency to be extremely direct.

Kurapika really dug his own grave, and he can't help the slightly embarrassed flush on the tips of his ears. ]

...Fine. Congratulations then, or whatever.

Thanks. Let's find something for you that goes along with that look, huh? [ they've reached the sunglasses store! huzzah. ]

[ He's so thankful for the subject change that his shoulders visibly relax and he makes a beeline towards one of the displays. ]

I'll need something that fully covers my eyes, first of all. Matching to whatever I'm wearing comes second.

[ And so, Kurapika picks up something simple and practical, and while it's not offensively unfashionable, it's not cutting edge either. ]
