I can be your eyes, if you need - see if the library has anything. If it's a curse, though, you'll probably want to find someone representing the East.
[ The stress of this is exhausting, enough so that the moment Ahito sits down, he allows his head to hit the pillow. ]
There are plenty of books for you to read, at least.
[ And he could recommend some if he didn't knock out almost immediately. It's hard for him to sleep with other people nearby, but... with certain people, it's easy. Ahito must be one of them. ]
[Honestly, he doesn't even need them. How many times had he held vigil over Mizuki as she slept? Gaze never averting, all to ensure his healing power went to her and her alone?
He stays exactly where he is for quite some time, ensuring Kurapika's able to rest deeply and rest well. Once it gets about time for him to turn in, he traces a circle into the headboard over Kurapika's head and activates it, channeling his magic with a soft incantation.
It's not much, as it isn't his specialty, but it's a small barrier around the bed to hopefully give Kurapika a gentle, soothing sensation upon waking, to clear away the grogginess of sleep and leave him refreshed. One use only and he'll have to clean up the chalk, but - hopefully, hopefully, it helps.
And once that's done, he'll return to his own room to rest up, too.]

I'll look. I haven't read of anything like this in the library before, but maybe our two caretakers might know something.
[ Ah, but he can't let the tight grip of Ahito's hand go unnoticed either. ]
Don't worry so much, Ahito. I'll figure this out.

[Smh pika!!]

I could ask Yamato. [ He frowns. ] But I don't want him to worry like you are right now either.
no subject
[Is it easier to bear if he makes it sound funny.]
no subject
You have a point, I guess. I didn't think merely touching it would cause all of this, but... it's good to know for the future.
no subject
[He would, of course. But also what if not???
How's Kurapika's grip, now? Relaxing any?]
no subject
I can't make a promise, but I'll do my best. [ Promises are bad, after all. ] At least now we know the extent of what we're working with.

[Norths are a cautious sort, it seems.
Anyway he'll keep a gentle hold on Kurapika's hand, but it's heartening to know it's improving.]
Do you want me to fetch Yamato later? Or should I hit the books first?
no subject
[ He breathes out, his vision slowly starting to creep back in. ]
Whatever this is, I think it goes away after a certain amount of time.
no subject
[And at least Ahito's calmed enough to no longer be visibly distressed even if Pika can see him again.]
I'll see what I can dig up.
no subject
[ His eyes are completely back to their normal cool brown, and he lets go of Ahito's hand so he can sit up. ]
I should be able to help too.
[ But... not right now. ]

...I will. I'm exhausted beyond the curse itself.
[ The curse hasn't had any impact on him other than what just happened. But the knowledge of it? That's weighing him down. ]
no subject
If you need any food or water from the kitchens, I can probably grab you something.
no subject
[ He has some water with him and he isn't hungry. ]
...Thank you, Ahito.
no subject
That said- do you want company while you rest, or...?
[He's more than used to hanging out at a patient's bedside.]
no subject
Well, I won't say no. But if you get bored, don't blame me.
no subject
Let's just say I have plenty of practice.
[He'll even remove his shades for now - not like he's going anywhere that he might need them.]
Rest well, Kurapika.
