[Akira squeezes out from under Kurapika's palm to stand on his shoulder and take a gander at his desk. If he's grabbing a new book, he wants to know what he's reading next.]
[ Having the entire weight of a cat standing on his shoulders hurts a little bit, but it's fine. It's hard to be mad at the pain when it's concentrated through cute little kitty paws.
There are a good number of books on Kurapika's desk, sitting upright and organized by author. His fingers graze along the spines. ]
Most of these are history books, but I have a few pieces of fiction. [ He stops on one book, lingering on the spine. ] This one is a typical hero's journey.
[Akira peruses the options, reading each spine, but it's the hero's journey that stands out to him most. Hopping down onto the desk, Akira taps that one repeatedly with his paw. They both like this sort of thing, don't they? Maybe they could read it together.]
[ That makes him smile, and he plucks that book from its row. ]
These were my favorite stories as a kid. When I was young, my friend and I taught ourselves the common language just so we could read a book about a hero's adventures in the world.
[Akira chirps in approval. The best stories are the ones that hold a place close to your heart, aren't they? Akira rubs his little kitty head against Kurapika's cheek. Do it. Read him some of your childhood favorite.]
