Realistically, Kurapika could put more pressure on Yamato and pin him down harder, using his other hand to grab at his leg and truly lock him into place, but that isn't how anyone learns.
Yamato's move is creative (and decent) enough to shake Kurapika off, and he's forced to let go of his wrist and fall back onto the floor beside Yamato. ]
[ Yamato has a feeling that Kurapika is going very, very easy on him, but he appreciates it. He's pretty sure he'd get nowhere if the guy used his full strength. It's clear that he's got a lot of it.
Yamato can't help but grin at his own progress. ]

But Kurapika quickly blocks it, bringing up his arm and disrupting the punch with his forearm. Ugh. It's a real shame he can't focus his Nen in that area to reduce the impact of the blow. ]
[ Again, he says. Gladly. Yamato strikes once more with a little more ferocity – and then a second time, with more frustration if the prior one doesn't land.
[ Kurapika manages to block that one with no real issue too, though he grabs Yamato's wrist this time. He tugs, a small preview of what he could do in a real fight to incapacitate Yamato. ]
