I partnered with someone in the group I'm after. It was helpful, as much as I didn't like it.

How'd you get an in with them?

We fought at one point, and he told me that he knew something really interesting about the ones I was chasing. He told me to meet him in York New City once I confronted him about it, which I did later on.

...And he was good on his word?

[revengier]

He was, actually. He gave me a lot of valuable information and didn't betray my intentions or identity.

[ ... ]

It was not out of the goodness of his heart, however. He wanted to do what was most interesting to him.

...And that's what he found interesting?

[ He nods. ]

Sowing discord in the Phantom Troupe? Of course. He always does what he thinks would be fun to watch.

What is the Phantom Troupe, anyway?

A group of thieves that do whatever they like, steal whatever they like, and kill whoever they like.

[dyingtohealyou]

...No wonder they're so hard to track down.

[ He nods. ]

They're incredibly elusive. High class bounties tend to be.

[dyingtohealyou]

Are they a large organization, too?

[revengier]

There are only thirteen members, so no. That makes it easier for them to hide.

[ ... ]

And, I think, speaks to their power as well.

[dyingtohealyou]

To be that feared with so few members, yeah. I see what you mean.

Are they loosely organized? Seeing as it sounds like they're split up.

They're close enough that they can be relatively loosely organized.

[ He thinks that makes sense, at least. ]

This is the kind of group that would carry on as normal, even if their leader died.

Do they just rely on each other for backup?

[revengier]

[ Hmm. ]

It's hard to say. I think they don't necessarily expect one another to be their backup.

[dyingtohealyou]

...Then what do they get out of the organization?

[revengier]

They seem to know each other well, so... it could be those ties.

[ He shrugs. ]

It's hard to say, really. There isn't much information on them. Their loyalty is strong, I know that much.

[ And yet they won't serve as backup for one another. It's a strange paradox. ]

Loyal, but keeping to themselves...?

[He's clearly struggling to wrap his head around it, too.]

It's very, very strange. I've never seen a group quite like them before.

I guess if they know each other well enough to figure they don't need the help...

[Though... it does bring something to mind, apparently, because he falls silent, staring out over the quietly lapping waves.]

[ He nods, figuring that that must be the case. Which poses its own sort of danger.

But Ahito's silence makes him look over. ]

...It's not really a big deal, but... I guess, it might be important if we end up fighting together...

[He's half talking to himself.]

[ Fighting together? That immediately gets his attention. ]
