Indeed. I believe that the reason why they want to keep others from sensing magical signatures coming from the castle is due to the fact that they're hiding two wizards in the castle. One being the prince, and the other being Oz, he who left lasting scars on the land.
I don't believe they're doing so out of benevolence, however. [If they did, they would have been very open about Oz's presence.]
The Southern Wizards have returned but are in a coma according to Day. I wonder if it's the same for the prince and Oz.
