[ Sweet. Cheers, then. Yamato drinks his wine, more than what's probably proper, and he lowers his glass with a smile. ]

[ He places it on the tabletop next to him. ]

What kinds of alcohol do you favor, Day?

[ Things Day is learning tonight: Yamato regularly drinks. He has to given how comfortable he looks here. Day's still holding onto his drink, not quite done with it yet. ]

Plum wine. [ Immediate answer. ] A lot of fruity drinks, really. Got to try milk wine too, but I think it's an acquired taste.

Not quite my style, but I know those are still good to plenty of others.

[ He's more of a beer kind of guy, after all. ]

Milk wine seems like an acquired taste, but to be fair, so's beer. I got used to it, and now it's my favorite thing.

Hehe, beer's plenty good too! Didn't think we had many drinkers in the manor.

[ Which, to be fair, a significant chunk of them are underaged, so... ]

Me neither. You're probably the first one I've met.

[ Clearly, they need to drink together again!! ]

I don't usually like events like these, but they're more bearable with something to drink. Don't you think so?

It ain't a proper party without drinks. [ Which probably answers a lot. ] I'll get around to business in a bit, but no point not having fun while we're here, yeah?

Yeah, of course. I'm on board with all of that.

[ He lets out another chuckle. The alcohol's kicking in a bit, since he drank that wine pretty quickly... ]

Talked to any of the other guys yet? The people watchin' us and all. What d'you think of all that?

[ ~~Stares at my NPC thread in the distance~~ ]

Not yet, but I can tell they're watchin'. Some of the countries' dignitaries are evaluatin' us, I'm sure.

Oh, I don't doubt that at all.

[ MOOD, DAY. ]

I guess we'll find out what their thoughts are in time. Hopefully we didn't mess 'em up too much.

Some of us seem pretty... [ Pausing to try and think of a good way of phrasing this. ] Slick. Or at least used to this sorta thing. So I think we'll be alright.

[ Or at least he's trying to have faith in everyone here. Please don't prove him wrong (meanwhile, Akira passing out during the ball sure is a thing). ]

Oh, yeah. 'm probably one of those people who's used to it. I'm more worried about everyone else, honestly.

[ He's got no filter when he's intoxicated, apparently. ]

But we'll see. Just gotta trust everyone else to not mess up too badly, eh? Haha.

Oh? [ Yamato didn't immediately give that impression. ] What sorta work do you do?

I'm...well, I'm something like a celebrity back at home. A lot of people know me because of that.

[ As well as his family history, but he doesn't mention that whatsoever. ]

I'm an idol. Dancing, singing, acting. Those are things I've got under my belt.

Ah, so you're another performer! [ He doesn't actually know what an idol is, but everything else explains it for him. Day perks up immediately. ] Tatara would be happy to know.

Tatara? Is he also a performer?

[ Somehow, he didn't know this. Somehow, he was under the impression Tatara didn't have this particular interest. Then again, he doesn't know their Sage all that well, so this is absolutely going to be duly noted. ]

Wow, I didn't realize... But I'll have to talk to him about that, then. ... Is this an area of interest for you, too?

He's got a guitar, and he sounded mighty interested in putting on a concert in the manor one day. [ It's going to become everyone else's problem whether they want it or not, so Yamato may as well ask Tatara. ]

I'm in a performance troupe back home. Musician and actor by trade. Guess your room's high up enough that you haven't heard me practisin' in my room.

A concert? Heh, I'm sure he could put something together. We've got another idol here, actually. Leo.

[ And Leo's like, really excited about this kind of thing, so. ]

Ah, that was you? I've heard parts of some sort of musical instrument playing, but I didn't realize that was you. That's cool, though. What were you playing?

Huh. I know Leo likes music [ It's like immediately obvious within 5 minutes of talking to him. ], but not that he's an idol.

It's an erhu. Kinda wish I coulda bring it along here. [ It'd be another fun thing to do at the party besides dancing and navigating the dignitaries. ]

Yeah, we've never heard of each other's groups before despite coming from the same place, but I'm learning that there're different variations of our home that people are from.

[ There's an apocalyptic Japan, and there's another one with demons, etc. ]

An erhu, though? Mind showing me when we get back to the manor sometime?

[ ...Huh. Like all potential possibilities existing at once, the part of Day who's, unfortunately, a professional in certain kinds of metaphysical nonsense thinks. ]
