Well - I kind of wanted to ask what happened on the mission, but like I mentioned, I also have a favor to ask.

I want to know what you guys did to defend yourselves from the curse.

The Northern wizards are probably up for a task of our own sooner or later. I'd prefer to prepare as much as possible before we get sent along into who-knows-what.

Protective seals. I placed one on everyone with the intention of keeping them safe from the curse.

[ The only one it didn't work on was Mika, but like...yeah. That's for other reasons. ]

Any of you know how to do those?

Maybe Robin or Solomon, but even if they do, I don't know how well it would work considering our country's specialty.

Hm... Might be hard to learn it if you guys get called soon, and it helps that seals and curses are the Easts' specialty.

[ He looks away, thoughtful. ]

You think enchanting an item for you guys might work? Maybe I can place the seal on something for each of you, and you can activate it when you get closer to the curse?

Yeah, I kind of figured you guys would be the ones to go to on curses. Enchanted items might work, though - either something we can activate ourselves, or items already imbued with your power?

If you give me an item you'd be able to carry with you, I can place a seal on it for you.

[ He's just hoping it'll work, though... ]

Is there a certain size it should be for the seal?

I don't think it matters too much. If you want it on a weapon, I can try that, or a pendant -- whatever you'd like.

I don't usually keep much on me...

[Hmm... After a moment of consideration, he'll produce a coin of their regular currency, concentrating briefly to punch a hole through the center with his magic - marking it clearly.]

That should be okay. I'll try something out.

[ He doesn't think his magic's limited by size, so he holds his hands out, quietly says his incantation...and magic flows out from his hands, towards the coin. It leaves his emblem on it -- a music sharp. ]

There. Let me know how it goes. ... It's all I've got in mind.

[Taking it - noting the emblem and grinning, giving it a lil flip before he pockets it.]

Anyway, you wanted to know about the mission?

[ LISTEN, MALICE IS A GIVEN...... ]

Well, you might've heard the summary earlier, but we fought moon rock-powered automatons that were taking over the city. There were a lot of them, but we managed. Got to Collodi's workshop, where we found him...dead.

[ Yeah. ]

His journal entries implied that his automatons turned on him. Seems like he's the one who was responsible for all of that. After that, we -- [ fell apart, honestly ] went to purify the source. It took three of us to get it right, but that's...the gist of it.

The end is when Mika went on one of his little "humanity sucks" rants, huh?

[His tone is equal parts exasperated and sympathetic. Read the room, Mika...]

I hope this doesn't mean we'll end up dealing with monsters powered up by moon rocks... The North's already got issues with how many of them there are roaming around.

I'm hoping that you guys don't have to deal with it, either. It was...a lot, to say the least. But the five of you are really strong, so I think you'll be okay.

Anyway, if strength were the only issue, I'd be far less worried.

Sometimes he opens his mouth and repeats pretty much the same exact things about how humans are all universally terrible, and so are vampires, but in a different way. But at the same time, he obviously doesn't really want to hurt humans over it or anything?

Like there's some kind of disconnect between the things he always repeated to himself versus his actual feelings on the matter...

...Well, I'm saying all this, but in the end he's got the emotional intelligence of a teaspoon. Who knows if he'll ever manage to untangle his feelings on any of it.
