Kiryu's room is...pretty impersonal. Looks more like a hotel suite than someone's bedroom -- it has been a long time since Kiryu had a place to call his own and therefore he's seeing this more as a place to be at for a while, instead of as 'his room'.

There's places to seat, at least! Although Kiryu is standing, looking through the window]

Did something happen?

[Apparently a social visit wasn't Kiryu's first thought right now. He thought Jing Yuan coming here meant something had happened.

Kiryu seems...honestly he looks completely intact. The other Central members got here with some injuries or consequences, but Kiryu seems just like normal]

Well, it's a sparse looking place, but it isn't like Jing Yuan expected it to be necessarily gaudy or anything like that. He will take like, a seat at a chair if there is one! ]

Yes. Specifically that mission you and the rest went away for.

[ Kiryu seems just fine, including not stumbling around or anything, but better to be sure by asking! ]

Jing Yuan takes a glass of it and gulps some down. It's a little stronger than what he's used to, actually, but he can tolerate it just fine. ]

I spoke with Kurapika, and he told me some details about what happened. That you all clashed against ghosts, and that there was a particularly large cursed object that needed purification. He appeared to have something else going on with him as well that sounded concerning [ Which is still being threaded out but you know ] so I thought to ensure you weren't similarly effected.

And if you were able to observe something other than those events.

Kurapika touched that moon rock. I would be surprised if he didn't have something going on.

I feel fine, though. I felt something in my threatening to tear, but I think Akira and I managed to put enough protection to shield ourselves.

[Kiryu did focus on that as soon as he felt something was wrong. Still, being asked if he was able to observe something other than this all...hmmmmm...]

When you say 'threatening to tear', can you tell me where exactly you felt this sensation? I believe Kurapika mentioned something in him 'broke'...

Just like it sounds. It was like...something in me was threatening to break. Dunno how to describe it -- you'd have to feel it yourself to know.

I guess it was something about souls, since we saw ghosts.

[And ghosts are the souls of people, so his guess is that the moon rock was trying to create more ghosts by killing them]

...Did you notice anyone who did or looked like they may have sustained any great deal of damage from the ghosts? Enough where even afterwards they would have needed help to continue moving along?

We split at one point to cover more terrain. Kurapika and Akira went by themselves. Clearly that was a mistake.

[Because not only they returned roughed up, but also it's possible something happened to them while they were away and they didn't tell]

[ That does sound like a mistake, though it is kind of a difficult one to be able to necessarily know it would turn out for the worst.

A bit harder to find fault with than other choices, for sure. ]

I know Kurapika came back in a bad state from my talk with him...but, what about Akira?

Akira wasn't looking too hot either when he came back. [Milky getting 1 after 1 after 1...] He helped me try to dampen the rock's curse, when we first encountered it.

[Perhaps that was too much interaction with the rock? Who knows, maybe Milky rolled once another 1 at that point]

I see. It may be that he might have gotten the full brunt of it, depending on the strength of his own magical defenses, in comparison to yours.

[ That's his interpretation. Maybe. Hard to know for certain without having both of the other two's side of the story, because he has a feeling it will be more complete on asking Akira as well. ]

You'd think I'd be the one they'd target. I'm not used to magic at all.

[Maybe the ghosts got really intimidated by the way Kiryu slammed some with a table, and threw another over his shoulder, and glared at another so hard they ran away, and then they decided Akira was an easier target]

It may be that those who are more accustomed to magic would be far more suitable for targets. Particularly if ghosts abound.

[ Jing Yuan is not unfamiliar to the troublesome antics of possession, what with the heliobi and what not, so he does not think this is dissimilar.

...He does not know Kiryu was pretty much kicking ass and taking names in a certain manner to be incredibly intimidating, but hey! ]

After all, if a ghost has control of a vessel with great magical capability, then they have more raw power at the tips of their fingers.

If anything happens I'll do what I can to stop any ghosts trying to harm us, then.

[No matter they puppet Akira around, Kiryu won't let that stop him from doing what he can.

Thankfully, he fulfills this promise when it counts]

[ Jing Yuan has faith that Kiryu will raise to the occasion should all go awry once more. When matters become at their core embroiled in chaos, those who have proven their worth and those who have yet to, will do so.

[Kiryu has less magical skills and no weaponry, so as long as you stay out of his range you should be able to subdue him!]

It wouldn't be the first time I've taken such responsibility upon myself.

[ Jing Yuan does also have martial arts skill so if it ends up close range he can probably do decent enough and then bring down the hurt with stunning electrical maneuvers. ]

[When you say they're stunning electrical maneuvers do you mean they stun or do you mean they're incredibly cool to see]

I guess that we found a rock means the rest of the teams will find some as well.

It seems to be a common pattern thus far. We're fortunate if it means only one rock is in each country, despite their danger.

Otherwise, it will become something to watch out for, if we should discover more than one rock in a place.

Shouldn't we wonder how they got here in the first place? The one we found was in the vault of the castle. That was not recent.

[It was so long ago nobody even knew what was causing trouble! All they knew was that it was in the vault]

We should. Considering the circumstances, someone must have placed it there.

After all, I doubt the rock itself could have simply gotten up and walked into the vault.

[ Those are his thoughts, anyway. The phrasing might be a bit silly, but ultimately it is the thought that counts.

There's got to be a reason why all these rocks activated roughly at the same time, too. The one in the vault was inert for long enough everyone forgot about it.

[ For a moment, Jing Yuan closes his eyes, as if in thought, before reopening them. ]

It could be purposeful timing that would support in the coming of that Great Calamity we are meant to prevent in the previous wizards' place.

So fulfilling these missions will make it easier to defeat the moon once the calamity comes.
