[ it's late at night but not dark due to the moon's light (the evil moon, if the sage is to be believed) and khun is in the courtyard with a blanket, a whole lot of junk spread out across it. there's a hair brush, stationary supplies, books, a small potted plant, a chess board, a briefcase, a jack with marbles...you get the picture.
he sighs loudly, exasperated. ]
Maybe I should try a lantern? That's kind of similar to a lighthouse...
[ for a brief second khun tenses at kazuma's arrival, a particularly sharp gaze accompanying it. khun's missing his lighthouse already, but really even without it, he shouldn't be caught so unaware. ]
[Considering they all of them arrived on an elevator (what elevator fits like 30 people........... it was probably less than that but it felt like more considering their token giants, at least to those below 626 6 feet) -- it's hard not to want to investigate any and all elevators on the premises.
And this one even goes to the mysterious and faraway lands of the Central capital (and also actual mysterious and faraway lands, who knew a single elevator that isn't even a space elevator could be this magical??), so it sees a lot of use.
Just today, though, it's seen a lot of use. As in, there's a boy in a black wizard's uniform with red highlights just sort of going up and down and up and down and sideways and I actually don't know how this elevator works, it goes and it goes. With our apologies to literally anyone who's waiting for it to come back from wizard Antarctica (North??) or something.
Ding. Cid blinks as the doors open back at the manor and he spots yet another person waiting. At this point--]
Welcome to your regularly scheduled wizard elevator ride. I've still got no idea how this thing works, but I think I've worked out, like, half the buttons.
[Maybe. He can be an elevator operator instead of a wizard!!]

[This guy enters and stands to a side, crossing his arms all cool and dark and broody]
Only half? Please don't tell me you plan to work out the rest while I'm standing here.
[It's not like Kiryu was in any hurry to go somewhere, but still, getting stuck in an elevator while this guy presses the emergency button by accident isn't his idea of a fun time]
[can you imagine if i just replied 'no he is not here come back later' and that ended the thread
But nah, he's here]
Come in! It's open.
[Welcome, Jing Yuan!
Kiryu's room is...pretty impersonal. Looks more like a hotel suite than someone's bedroom -- it has been a long time since Kiryu had a place to call his own and therefore he's seeing this more as a place to be at for a while, instead of as 'his room'.
There's places to seat, at least! Although Kiryu is standing, looking through the window]
Did something happen?
[Apparently a social visit wasn't Kiryu's first thought right now. He thought Jing Yuan coming here meant something had happened.
Kiryu seems...honestly he looks completely intact. The other Central members got here with some injuries or consequences, but Kiryu seems just like normal]
tap tap tap tap. That soft clinking is coming from the window-- specifically from Ithaqua, who's crouched on the exterior windowsill. Once he knows he has Kiryu's attention, he stops rapping on the glass with his claws, and gives a little wave.
[...of all the things that could have happened, this wasn't one Kiryu expected. Once he sees Ithaqua there Kiryu sure hurries to the window, opening it to let him in! That looked dangerous, Ithaqua!

Was coming to the door too much effort for you or what?

[ it's been a while since they chatted and in the wake of Everything central mission apparently was and then the things with Akira, they're due for a talk. khun'll stop kiryu whenever he sees him around the grounds with a smile. ]
[Such a response comes with a very faint tone of pride there, like he's trying to dismiss how good that was, but also he can't help but revel in the fact that yes, he's got skill]
I didn't think a punch would still be of use when there's magic everywhere.
[Overcoming challenges through the magic of PHYSICAL VIOLENCE. He still has to apologize to Akira for maybe bruising his ribcage and arm]
[ One evening, Kiryu will hear a quiet knocking at his door, and should he answer, outside will be the ever-nervous Bruno. He's lacking in his usual green ruana since, uh, he still needs to get the remnants of all that blood out, but what he does have is a bottle of wine and two glasses in hand. ]
[Takes only one look at Bruno holding wine and glasses for Kiryu to understand! He opens the door, sees all that, and fully opens the door so Bruno comes into the room!

But hey, at least they can be comfortable, to the coffee table!]
[Well, it's more like a casual sparring match, but calling it a fight club makes it sound a lot cooler.
Akira meets up with Kiryu in the courtyard at the appointed time and, as promised, has brought Kurapika along. Dressed in light clothes that are easy to move in, it's obvious Akira's taking this seriously. He's looking a little worn down, still, but much better than he had last night when Kiryu came to check up on him.
Flagging the man down, Akira greets him with a bow, something he very seldom does. He's a rude little brat, after all.]
[ Much like Akira, Kurapika is taking this seriously too, wearing something lightweight and familiar to him, modified with a transformation spell. He's mostly here to watch Akira get his ass kicked, but he's hopeful that he'll be able to help out... and maybe even spar with Kiryu a bit too. ]
[ guess who? your friendly neighborhood perfectly normal tactician is doing his usual morning thing of hanging out on balconies and other assorted high places like the roof, so what does he spy in the courtyard but
what looks to be some excellent morning entertainment.
hang on, he's gotta get some coffee and (sweet) snacks first. then he's making himself comfortable somewhere with a good view of the proceedings to watch hopefully someone getting their ass kicked. ]
[ Oho, what's this? Day's normally here to practice playing, but if there's a sparring match then he'll want to pay attention to that. Dyed in the wool martial artist can't keep hiding it forever.
...Though this is off to an amazing start, huh. He'll see how this goes before he decides to be a shit. ]
[For once, Ithaqua has knocked on a door... but disappears immediately, leaving behind a hint of his magical signature and a small paper bag with half a dozen buns of freshly baked sourdough, each one slightly smaller than a fist, perfectly bite-sized. There's also fruit jam inside, nice and sweet, and with not a lot of that overly processed sugar Ithaqua dislikes either. How did he get it in there? Magic, of course. What flavors are there? Strawberry, blueberry, peach, lemon marmalade, and orange marmalade.
Enjoy! Don't burn the manor down while the Northies are gone.]
focus, focus! we are doing a focus thread bc i say so
he sighs loudly, exasperated. ]

You have been at this for a while, haven't you?
