[ Yamato's seen some troubling things from Kurapika, so he's a little concerned about the others who went on the Central Mission, Kiryu included.

He'll pay Kiryu a visit in the evening and give his door two knocks. ]

Kiryu-san? It's Yamato.

[Kiryu calls from inside. Enter, Yamato!

Kiryu's room is...pretty impersonal. Looks more like a hotel suite than someone's bedroom -- it has been a long time since Kiryu had a place to call his own and therefore he's seeing this more as a place to be at for a while, instead of as 'his room'.

Kiryu is by the window, already drinking, wow]

Coming to check up on me, I suppose?

[He appreciates that, really]

[ This is a much better bedroom than Yamato's- well. It's very fancy and doesn't feel super personal. That's a little surprising, but...

In Yamato's hands (because I forgot to mention this) is a little pouch. He'll hold it up as he enters the room. ]

Yeah. That, and I have the konpeito I promised you a few weeks ago.

[ Just in case, you know, he needs something nice right now. ]

I saw Kurapika...so I got worried about the rest of you, too.

You should worry more for the rest. I feel fine.

[...not true, really, but that's for reasons different to the mission]

As far as injuries go they all got the brunt of it.

...You made it out unscathed?

[ Hmm. He wonders if Kiryu's being honest about that but he won't pry. ]

I know Kurapika got it pretty bad. What happened to the others? ... What happened in general?

Physically, at least.

[Kiryu can't rule out the magical properties of the moon rock affected him, but he feels fine.

Not that he's being completely truthful about being physically fine, but details, details]

How much have you heard so far?

[You talked with others already, Yamato?]

...There was a rock, kind of like what the Southern wizards dealt with. It had pretty awful energy about it. All I know is that Kurapika touched it before it was purified, and that's why he probably has what he's got now.

[ Yeah. Yeah. ]

That's it, though.

There were ghosts. We had to fight a bunch of ghost guards, with both magic and physical action.

I wasn't aware ghosts were vulnerable to being hit with a table.

[No points for guessing which among the five Central wizards was smacking ghosts with a table]

[ ??? kiryu...holy shit?? ]

You really aren't a guy to be messed with, huh? Haha. I respect that a lot, actually.

[The Yakuza games really let you grab all kinds of objects and smack opponents with them. What's fighting clean? Don't ask Kiryu, he's more than fine using everything to win]

When the stakes include you or your companions getting hurt, you can't pull your punches. There were several encounters with ghosts and diplomacy turned out not to be an option.

[Kiryu and his immense luck with dice when it was about fighting, you wouldn't believe]

...Yeah. Makes sense. It sounds like you protected them, either way.

[ Briefly, he thinks of Kurapika. ]

...clearly it wasn't enough.

[He can't help but feel somewhat responsible for Akira and Kurapika returning pretty banged up and also cursed by a moon rock, even though it wasn't his fault. Kiryu was one of the adults, he should have been able to do more for them. Perhaps protest the suggestion of splitting the group instead of agreeing with it]

[ He gets that. He gets feeling like there's more he could've done for someone, more to have curbed a bad situation, but Kiryu is also older with more life experience under his belt. Still, Yamato wouldn't feel right just saying nothing... ]

If you ask me, I think they might at least be glad they're still alive.
