I can't exactly give all the details, but basically, someone got the blessings of five minor gods, which ain't supposed to happen. And the...how to say, petition to bless a mortal was filed under a different god's name, so some nonsense must have happened. That god has purviews under my division's jurisdiction, so it's our problem now.
So while we're conducting the investigation, I'm monitorin' that mortal to keep tabs on her condition and try to steer her away from messin' up destiny too much, 'cause it usually don't survive contact with Exalts very well.
Oh, uh. How I got the job's a different story. [ And Yamato would probably hate it, now that Day thinks about it. ] This sorta mission ain't typical of what we normally do, we're just in a weird situation 'cause this involves Heaven's laws.
And, yeah, that's one part of the job. Or if I can't keep her from makin' contact with somethin' involved with destiny, try to make sure it doesn't muck things up too bad. The other reason is 'cause...well, think of it this way, normally a person don't get a chance to be granted power by more than one god, if it ever happens to 'em, and that's already a lot? So a person who's got five different gods' blessings is like a powder keg, even if they're all minor gods. I'm supposed to keep tabs on her condition too.
That's what I'd like to know, but the damned investigation's been held up and that's how I've been stuck on assignment for two years.

So, like... 'fore I worked for Heaven, I lived a regular life as a mortal down in the mortal realm. All the agents in the bureau are, how to say, Chosen by our top bosses to get their blessing one day, and when that happens, we can take the job. You could say we're destined for it.
...When the appointed hour arrives and destiny comes for us, everyone in our mortal lives forgets about us, and mortals can't remember us again after.
That seems so sad. Lonely. Like the people you meet are nice but the relationships are meaningless because they'll all forget about you in the end, anyway. What a life that Day's had to live, and that says so much about why he's had his moments of being reserved around Yamato specifically.
