[He shuts the door behind Yamato and turns only to hear that... which gets Malice to blink for a moment.]

Wait, seriously? Ya mean it!?

[His good eye is wide, surprised. It's not like he thought Yamato wouldn't manage it, it's just he wasn't expecting it so soon. Maybe after some more mana stones or something.]

Yeah...I do.

[ Listen, he's gotten a lot better at his own brand of magic, so he feels more confident in trying this out with Malice. ]

What, are you scared?

[ He's just playing, but honestly, Yamato's probably the scared one between the two of them right now. ]

Scared? Hah, why would I ever be scared? This is... this is huge, Yama! I knew you were workin' hard on it, but...

[It's just hard to believe, really. The momentary pause is broken by Malice shaking his head and moving forward to grip his boyfriend's hands. He's thankfully wearing the normal prosthetic today, so no claws to worry about!]

I can't express how much this means to me. I really can't, Yama. I ain't all that great with words to begin with, an' you already know how much I hate hurtin' ya, so havin' another option is...! It's amazin'.

[ Oh, Malice is so happy...that's...really nice, actually. Yamato squeezes his hands in kind and his smile turns more certain, like he's more confident that things won't go wrong. ]

I was hoping you'd say that.

[ Yamato presses a soft kiss to Malice's cheek. ]

I just hope it goes okay. It's not like I've ever really tried it on anyone...

'Course it will! I'm sure you've been workin' hard on it an' you wouldn't wanna hurt me, so! It'll be fine.

[He says that with the utmost certainty, of course. Malice would never doubt his perfect boyfriend.]

So I'm ready whenever you are!

Of course I don't want to hurt you. I think that alone will be enough to keep you safe.

[ Considering emotions and all that impact magic, so... Yamato squeezes Malice's hands and closes his eyes. He utters his incantation, and soon, Malice's hand will glow a soft shade of purple. (He does pull from dark magic, after all!) He thinks about how much he wants Malice to eat human food, and all the times Malice has asked Yamato to describe it to him. May Malice be able to experience this, too. May he be able to feel full after eating a human meal.

Yamato is nervous, but his will is strong, and the seal is planted within seconds. On Malice's hand is Yamato's music sharp emblem, and it will be there permanently -- or, well, until one of them removes it. ]

[Malice watches, silent for once. He can tell that Yamato's nervous - this is a huge step forward after all, and he can see his boyfriend worrying about messing it up - but the seal is planted on his hand and Malice grins at it.]

Hey, look at that, now you can finally mark me up.

[did you really have to say it]

[ .............. ]

That's what you have to say after all of that?

[ Malice...honey... ]

I guess it's not wrong.

I already gave ya plenty of praise!

[he just can't help but making stupid (un)sexy jokes.....]

But I mean it, I'll wear it proudly!

[In fact, he will ditch his usual half gloves for it...]

Heh...alright, then. That'd make me happy.

[ He reaches into his pocket, and he pulls out what appears to be a sandwich! It's a simple one with ham and cheese, but the bread is nice and soft.

He hands a piece of it to Malice. ]

Here. Try this. See if you can eat it.

[why did you have a sandwich in your pocket, yama......... is this a normal human thing??]

Okay! You won't even have to describe it to me this time!

[So without any further hesitation, Malice takes it. He examines it with his head tipped to the side, even checking out the contents inside (and coming to the conclusion that he has no idea what this is supposed to taste like anyway) before taking a bite.

Immediately his eye widens as he chews. Thankfully, he's been successfully crunching on moon rocks so he knows how to actually y'know. Eat food that involves chewing. Good for him. Once he swallows he yanks on Yamato's sleeve with his free hand, excited.]

Yama, it tastes so weird! [This is a compliment, apparently.] It's nothin' like blood! It's... It's so...

[He waves a hand, trying to figure out how to word it. Huh, Kiryu really was right about this describing food thing, wasn't he.]

[ I MEANT TO TYPE SATCHEL AND THEN POCKET CAME OUT..... ]

...Weird? Nothing like blood? Yeah, that's what it's supposed to be like.

[ He laughs, but his expression is soft, and he might be a little misty-eyed after seeing Malice's delight. He knows how much Malice wanted this. ]

So...what do you think? I wanted to make something a lot nicer for you, but I thought that if there was too much flavor, you might not like it.

[LMAO NO WORRIES]

Ya might be onto somethin' there. But I'm gonna wanna try it all! Everythin'!

[What's restraint, that's not important, right.]

[ Cute. He'll hand Malice the rest of the half of the sandwich, then. In the meantime, Yamato exhales a sigh of relief and he's content to watch his boyfriend enjoy this. ]

Take your time. It's nice for me too, you know, to see you enjoying it so much. And since you can eat things now...do you want to grab dinner with me tonight?

[He looks up with a broad grin.]

Absolutely! Oh man, do I need to learn how to cook now...?

[Hmm, maybe he should ask someone (Solomon) about that (no).]

What d'ya wanna do for dinner? When is dinner anyway?

I'll teach you overtime. Let this be my treat.

[ He wants to spoil Malice with so much food, now. ]

Or, we can grab something to eat somewhere. Dinner's usually around sunset -- for me, anyway. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later. Depends on what kind of day it is.

[Malice nods, clearly excited about the possibility of learning to cook. This is such a mundane thing for humans, but for vampires? He's the first vampire in Sveryn to ever be able to consume human food, and he's going to enjoy it. Fuck those other vampires, they are absolutely missing out.]

Yeah! I'm fine with whatever, it's not like I've had enough yet to have preferences, after all! So you get to choose!

Alright, then. I'll make something for you.

[ He wraps an arm around Malice's waist. He's pleased about how all of this has gone down. ]

I'm feeling a little greedy, you know. I want today to be ours.

[Give him a sec to take another bite before cuddling against Yamato and nuzzling against his cheek.]

Then it'll be ours. You can spoil me all day if ya want!

[It's light, like a joke, but he wouldn't be surprised if Yamato feels exactly like that - because that's how he always feels about his boyfriend!!]

I know you've worked so damn hard for this, an' I really appreciate it, Yama. I don't...

[His gaze slips away, focusing down on the remnants of the sandwich.]

...I don't have'ta hurt ya anymore. I don't have'ta hurt anyone anymore. I can just... exist. I can just be me without havin' to fight for my place in the world. It means the world to me. Like I said, I ain't any good at expressin' it, but I'm sure ya get how I feel.

[ He smiles when Malice's cheek touches his, and he fully intends on spoiling Malice all day. What gets him, though, is what follows, because Malice is right. He can just be himself. He doesn't have to worry anymore.

That makes Yamato happier than he can ever properly express, himself. ]

...You're right.

[ And he's glad for it. ]

That's what I wanted for you. I didn't want you to have to be so upset with yourself, after seeing how badly things were affecting you. You won't have to fight anymore.

Knowing that makes me happy, too.

[Malice rests against Yamato with a smile; it's kind of crazy to think they were brought here to help, and yet he hasn't had to actually fight nearly as much as he has back home. Maybe he could get used to this... as long as he still gets to fight sometimes, anyway.]

I can't thank ya enough for all the hard work you've put in for me. So you'll let me give ya somethin' in return, yeah?

Something in return?

[ His hold on Malice tightens. Honestly, he doesn't need anything in return for this, but since Malice is offering... ]

Hmm. I won't say no to that. What'd you have in mind?

[Malice nods and his grin shifts into something a little softer, though still deeply pleased.]

My real name. The one I was given by the lady who raised me. I'd forgotten it, which is why I've been usin' "Malice" for so long. But when we were dealin' with all those memories made real in the forest, I got to see her again an' I remembered it.

[He pauses for a moment once that's out there, considering.]

You can still call me whatever you'd like. I just wanna tell ya 'cause it's important to me that ya know. But I'm still usin' the name "Malice" 'round all the others, so ya don't have'ta switch if ya don't wanna.

[With all that out of the way, he exhales and then, with a grin, Malice finishes:]

My name's Ametrine. Like the gemstone.

[It's a stone that's both purple and yellow, so you can likely see where the name came from.]

[ This is, perhaps, the most thoughtful gift anyone has given him. Yamato's expression softens when Malice – no, Ametrine – gives his name to him, just like that. Yamato holds it in his heart like it's the most precious thing in the world, and he says it in the same way: ]

Ametrine...

[ Like he's trying to see how that rolls off his tongue. It comes out pretty easily. And honestly, he thinks it's a name that suits the kind of man Ametrine is. He doesn't know gemstone meanings or anything like that, but in the time they've known each other, "Malice" doesn't quite fit everything Yamato knows about his partner. ]

Mind if I call you that instead? I don't mind saying Malice, especially since you chose it yourself. It's just... I don't associate you with what that word means. You've embodied the opposite of that while you've been here.

[It gets a soft laugh from him, and he nuzzles Yamato once more.]

Yeah, I've heard that from a few people here? I guess a lot of what made me "Malice" were my circumstances back home.

[Having to fight for his life every day, knowing that you either betray or end up betrayed, and still ending up falling for it hook, line, and sinker. He has a lot of reasons to hate vampires - but no reasons to hate anyone here. It may be the name he chose, but "Malice" doesn't really fit him all that well here.]

I don't mind at all. It's nice to remember it - an' I certainly won't forget it again if you're usin' it!
