( Kept intentionally dark with both dim lighting, drawn curtains, and a general dark color scheme, Malice's room is gloomy and foreboding. The bed is large and surprisingly ornate, covered in thick purple blankets and fluffy pillows. The one window facing out is constantly covered by thick, dark curtains (unless it's nighttime) and very little sunlight seeps into the room.
[ Yamatoβs already done the sugar job, so he doesnβt feel the need to do it again. Yet, for some reason, heβs in the courtyard, practicing it anyway. Thereβs no telling why, but there are a few small sugar crystals scattered around where heβs sitting.
He sees someone come into view β ah. Malice is back, it seems. ]
Donβt mind me. Just trying to get the hang of things.
[Hey, Yamato. Malice wasn't exactly seeking him out this time for more shenanigans, but here he is and here Malice is, so obviously there will be shenanigans of some sort. Particularly since those look like...]
Hey, is that sugar? Are you makin' some for that request?
[Malice, being a vampire, has no need to eat and therefore no idea how to make sugar, but it seems like Yamato's figured something out!]
[It's pretty late by the time they've finally gotten everybody stable. Solomon grabs Mika first since his room is right there, but with Malice down the hall, that quickly turns into Solomon's next destination.
[Malice gets the door quickly and steps back if Solomon wants to head on inside, but he's perfectly fine having this conversation in the hallway if not.]
[Malice gets the door shortly after the knock, stepping back if Ahito wants to come on in. Or they can have this conversation in the hallway, he's fine either way.]
I'm guessin' y'all managed to get 'em stable? They doin' as alright as they can be after that?
[ khun sticks around bitegate just enough to see if there's any actual casualties and to poke someone in particular, but after that he's off to see malice.
[Malice gets the door quickly, stepping back if Khun wants to enter. We can have this conversation in the hall if you prefer? Totally up to you whether you want to be alone with the other vampire right now.]
How're they doin'? I'm guessin' they're mostly healed up by now?
[Well, you'll hear some rather alarming sounds coming from inside. There's a crash, some muffled sounds that are possibly swearing, and then an eerie silence until Malice gets the door.]
Hey, Yama, this is uh... not a great time. What's up?
[Though he's trying to keep the door mostly shut... Yamato should be able to see that somehow Malice is not quite alone in his room? There's some sort of almost spirit-like figures in the back near the window, but making out more than that is tough from this angle. Perhaps more pressingly is that Malice's claws are being reeled back in as they speak, and he's adjusting them while trying to keep Yamato out of the room. So uh. Normal Malice Things!!]
[ Knock knock! Yamato is here and actually looking geared up to go somewhere. He's hoping Malice is down to join him on one of the jobs, but only one way to find out...! ]
[ Towards the end of the week, Yamato is over in Malice's room, napping in his bed. He's kind of adjusted his sleep schedule so he's awake a little later now, but since it's the middle of the day, a nap was definitely in order.
He wakes up, fully expecting to see Malice next to him. Or, at least, still in the room. ]
[Malice has been a bit antsy this week. Between Lazuli's disappearance, G'raha's sudden appearance, and the memories being shared between people, he just feels... frustrated, maybe. Like he's not in control of things - though when has he ever been in control of things here? So if he's been a little more absent and off in his head this week, that's why. It's nothing Yamato's done - and he'll obviously reassure his human of that if Yamato asks - it's just that it's really sinking in that they're going to need to do something for this world, and he doesn't think he's ready. He doesn't think he's ready to work with his fellow Norths when they depart either, but there isn't much time left to worry about that.
The anxiety isn't entirely unfamiliar; Malice has lived in a state of flight or fight his entire damn life, after all. The problem is that his default response is always fight and he's not sure that's the right choice this time. He's not sure he's strong enough for that, when he's always been able to rely on his strength.
So today he's been practicing - he actually slipped back into the room shortly before Yamato awoke. He was planning on using that spell to stave off the need to feed, but... Well, it's not going great today. Malice has been using it here and there and it does work, but he's gone longer this time in the hopes that it would work but... it definitely isn't. He needs to feed. Soon.
Unlike Mika, the hunger doesn't overtake him completely. Malice has told several people that he would never let himself get to that point, and he stands by it. Even here and now, at the hungriest he's been since he's arrived, he's still fully in control. Losing control was tantamount to losing ones' life back home, and even though that may not be the case here, he hasn't wanted to find out. So he's hungry, he's agitated, and he doesn't want to hurt Yamato, so he moves to the door already thinking of who to ask. Solomon, most likely. He'll keep Malice from taking too much, though the embarrassment of admitting that he isn't as in control of himself and his spells as he'd like would certainly sting. It's a worthy sacrifice for blood, though.
He hasn't even noticed his human is awake - a rarity, as Malice is always keenly aware of his surroundings - so you might want to stop him, Yamato!]
[For once, Ithaqua has knocked on a door... but disappears immediately, leaving behind a hint of his magical signature and a small paper bag with half a dozen buns of freshly baked sourdough, each one slightly smaller than a fist, perfectly bite-sized. There's also fruit jam inside, nice and sweet, and with not a lot of that overly processed sugar Ithaqua dislikes either. How did he get it in there? Magic, of course. What flavors are there? Strawberry, blueberry, peach, lemon marmalade, and orange marmalade. In contrast to the sweets, there are two vials of leafy green potions as well, with "healing" very clearly written in Ithaqua's overly formal script.
Enjoy, silly fellow Northie. Let's not murder each other when the mission is underway.]
[Huh, gone in a flash... He can tell whose magical signature that is at least, so he has no problems opening up the gift(?), tipping his head a bit at the food. This is a very nice gesture, but sadly he is a vampire and cannot consume it (yet). Yamato's going to get a nice surprise, though!!
He's definitely going to hold onto those vials, though. They seem very useful for our mission. Thanks, Ithaqua! He'll be sure to thank you in person later.]
[He recognizes the mark and the magic as well, and Malice grins at the note. In fact, he's going to keep it, setting it among his trinkets on the desk. As for these coins? They're staying in his pocket until the mission up north - don't worry, Yamato, he won't forget.]
[ At some point before the North wizards get called away, there's a small gift bag hanging on Malice's doorknob. In it is a small glass bottle filled with dandelion wishes and petals - from lilies, from roses, from all the new and familiar flowers Ginger has encountered while he gardens. The bottle feels warm to hold - and warmer still the longer it's held. At its peak, it will burn the frost away from the inside out for whoever holds it. The duration doesn't last too long, perhaps an hour at best if used all at once, but it's something from someone who owes him.
The bag waits patiently for the room's owner to find it before they leave - or when they return. ]
[Huh...! This is a really helpful tool for taking up north, and considering they'll have to go handle something out there at some point, this is certainly appreciated. He has a guess at who left it, and Malice makes a note to remember to think him later.]
[ that sure was an entire ass dragon in the courtyard wasn't it. khun really wasn't present when everyone else came to welcome the northerner's back, but he's making up for that today.
malice will get a knock on his door and an overly friendly greeting (he's obviously playing). ]
[Heya, Khun. Malice looks pleased at the compliment anyway, because he is attention starved and will take it even if it's a joke. You know how it goes.]
Doin' much better after a rest! I healed off most'a my injuries on the ride back, so I just needed to sleep to recover, but I'm back in fightin' form!
[ Malice will get a few knocks on his door. A certain someone is here to see him, and when Malice opens the door, he'll find Yamato looking a little nervous and yet a little excited about...something. Who knows what it is? Only one way to find out. ]
[Hey, Yamato! Malice greets his boyfriend with a grin, inclining his head a bit as he takes note of Yamato's demeanor. Something is up today, but what could it be...??]
room details
Across from the bed is a desk - rather plain-looking but dark wood with a sturdy chair and a purple cushion on it. The desk itself is covered in a random assortment of various (magical?) knick-knacks. Malice has a deep love for kitschy dΓ©cor and that's absolutely what's going on here. The vanity nearby is likewise covered with them.
There are also two large portaits of Malice set up in the back of the room near the window. He hasn't hung them up yet, but you bet he will. )
Week 1
He sees someone come into view β ah. Malice is back, it seems. ]
