[ He is so tired. But yeah, Yamato will enter the room and rub the back of his head, frustrated. ]
The first time was while Solomon and I were on a job. That worked out pretty well for us. The second time, well...let's just say another blood frenzy happened, and I had no choice but to knock Mika out for a little while.
[ Good to know his advice was helpful, Day thinks at first.
Then Yamato gets to the second part and Day can feel a headache coming on, like some horrible sixth sense he has whenever he's about to find out something that will give him a stomach ulcer.
He gestures at Yamato to take a seat, if he wants to. ]
How the hell did another blood frenzy happen? [ Last he checked ( thanks to Ginger) that was under control, so something else must have gone awry. ]
[ JUST. SAYING....... He says this as he takes a seat, like he wasn't bothered by it or anything (he absolutely was). ]
They got into a fight for some reason, and Khun nearly killed him. He lost a lot of blood, but he had healers and his own regeneration kick in...and then he was hungry.
[ Day just blinks at first, like he isn't entirely sure he heard that correctly. He wasn't exactly expecting to hear Yamato talking about decapitation. ]
[ Then as Yamato keeps talking, the sinks in, and with it a certain weariness, much like how he was the first night he showed up in the strange new world covered in blood stains.
Right. Yes. He supposes that saying holds true here as well. Violence is inescapable. Of course it's not going to always be peaceful even in the manor. ]
[ He wonders if he should check on Mika later, then also wonders if, perhaps, that would seem too fussy of him, especially since he missed all of it. Mika does not strike him as the type who likes or knows how to handle that sort of thing, so he might have to figure out some other way of approaching it.
...He should also probably check on Ginger later, because the stars know Ginger will never not have some kind of reaction to this.
It's fine. Day will just have to commit to going nocturnal after this. ]
[ Day manages a small smile before he disappears behind the folding screen. It presumably is meant to separate his bed space from the rest of the room, but he reemerges with an unopened bottle of wine and two wine glasses. They're not exceptionally fancy, but they'll do. ]
Ain't too sure, since I can't read the label. [ He's accepted that most of the time here, he's illiterate. Day can't read even the notes left by previous sages in the library.
He pours a drink for Yamato, then himself. ] But I think it's some kinda fruit wine.
[ Nice. He makes the toast and takes a sip. It's enough, for now. It's enough to feel at least a little happy that he's found another person he's fond of, here. It makes being here (existing) a lot less lonely and terrible. ]
Yeah. Feel free to come and visit anytime, 'kay? I know things can get pretty intense here, but I'd rather not leave a friend to handle it alone if I can help it.
[ Day had...actually, no, maybe he'd been too optimistic that it'd take more than a month before something wild happened here. Damn.
(Idly, he also realises—after all is said and done, and whatever comes next, Yamato would probably forget him. But that would be the least surprising outcome, and it is a blessing that Yamato seems to be someone normal. A mundane—a peaceful—life is a rarity. It's fine to just enjoy this while it lasts.) ]
Thanks. [ The dim realization that the past two years have involved a lot of handling things (or keeping plates spinning, so to speak) by himself, at his sole discretion, not that it could be helped. Day swirls the glass of wine in thought. ] ...I have an idea, but also a bunch of pain points I'm gonna have to figure out how to handle if I wanna try it.
[ A peaceful life is a rarity, indeed, and while he'd call the events here anything but that, he knows it's a lot more serene for others, to be here. To have a place to call...home? Or at least, to find a place of camaraderie.
He needs to remind himself not to take things for granted. Chances that he won't see these people again after this is over are not completely out of the question. The thought, as it had a few days ago, makes him feel a little sad...but anything can happen between now and when things end. He'll try not to think about it too much in the meantime. ]
week 4, monday, post-stabby
When Day answers, he'll be greeted with an exasperated Yamato. ]
I tried the curses. Twice. Both times, they worked.

...Well, normally he would congratulate Yamato for his progress, but the look of Yamato's face says there's more to it than that. ]
Yeah? [ Day steps aside, inviting Yamato to come in if he wants. He gets the feeling this isn't a conversation to be had in the hallway. ]
What happened?

cw: decapitation

Mela's tits. And it's been dealt with? [ Or else Yamato wouldn't be here. ]
no subject
It has been. The situation's under control.
[ As far as he knows, anyway. ]
We're okay now.

Do you mind day drinking? [ Sir. ]
no subject
Nope. Not at all.
[ He perks up considerably at the idea of drinking, because man. Man, last night was a time and he's not exactly fond of what happened at all. ]
Right now, or...?
no subject
[ It's been about 4 weeks and there's still plenty left. This is good coping, really. ]

[ YES DAY. YOU ARE HIS FAVORITE PERSON ATM. ]
no subject
Try not to get too drunk, though.
no subject
[ He'll be responsible for himself, and by that, he means he won't get super wasted. He won't do that to poor Day!
But, he grabs a glass for Day to pour some wine into. ]
What kind of wine is it?
no subject
He pours a drink for Yamato, then himself. ] But I think it's some kinda fruit wine.
no subject
...Yeah, I think so. It tastes sweet. It's good, though, if you like that sort of thing.
no subject
[ "Everything" is doing a lot of work here right now, as Day takes a drink himself. Not quite sipping, but he also knows his limits. ]
no subject
[ So here they are, day drinking and chilling. Trying to decompress. It's been a time here. ]
Was this something you did with your troupe often?
no subject
[ The bar is, admittedly, also just slightly above the ground when it comes to the troupe. ]
no subject
[ He considers this before he raises his glass towards Day. ]
To new friends?
no subject
He raises his own glass to clink it against Yamato's. ]
To new friends.
