There was tension because Mika said something that rubbed Shinjiro and I the wrong way. The guy thought that somehow, all humans will make bad decisions like the guy in the East did. Something like that. That's how I interpreted it, anyway. Simply put, it wasn't the best decision to go on about it in front of two humans.
